Sophie's POV:

I was sitting across from Edaline. We were both enjoying the Mallowmelt, arguably the best dessert of all time.

"Thank you for making this," I said.

"No problem, since it looked like you were having a rough day I decided you could have a nice little treat," She said, eating another bite of Mallowmelt. I shoved the last of the Mallowmelt into my mouth before pushing my plate aside.

"I have to go, Mom," I said. "Thank you, again."

She smiled before waving her hand, signaling it was ok to go. I quickly got up and grabbed my coat, my backpack, and light leaping crystal before walking outside and disappearing into the light.

"This is a nice place," I told Fitz.

"Thanks," Fitz said shyly. "I first went here when I was a little kid and I...Wanted you to see it too."

We were peering over the edge of a canyon that went so far down that my eye couldn't see to the bottom. The sides of the canyon were jagged but the canyon was wide. In other words, it was beautiful.

"It's beautiful," I said, amazed. Fitz entwined his fingers in mine. "Thank you."

I opened my backpack and spread out the blanket that was inside of it. We laid on it and enjoyed our homemade PB and J's. We enjoyed them in silence before finishing and laying on the blanket, our elbows touching. I turned to face Fitz and kissed him. He pulled me closer to him and held me tight-And then we were falling, over the edge of the canyon.

"AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHH," I screamed. Fitz held me tight as he fumbled in his pockets for his light leaping crystal he found it right before we hit the ground and teleported us out of there.

We appeared in front of the lawn at Everglen, the house looking as beautiful as ever.

"Phew," Fitz said. "That was way too close."

"I couldn't agree more," I said.

"I heard about Keefe coming over to your house yesterday," Fitz said.

"What? Oh, yeah," I said. "There is nothing going on between him and me. The only us there is, is us. Sorry, that didn't make any sense."

"It's fine," Fitz said. "That was you trying to be sweet."

"Yeah, wait, trying to be sweet," I said.

"See you later, Sophie," Fitz said, waving goodbye as walked up to his front gate. As soon as I saw him get inside his house I raised my crystal and disappeared.

"Grady!" I exclaimed as he was walking up to our front door.

"Sophie," He smiled and turned around. "What were you doing?"

"Hanging out with Fitz," I said.

"Well, your mom probably wants to see me after so long," He said. "C'mon."

I followed him up to the front door and came inside.

"Grady," Edaline said. "I'm so glad you're home"-She looked at Grady funny as if a silent message passed between them-"Are you ok."

"Yeah, thank's honey, I'm fine," Grady said with a troubled look on his face that did not match what he said. I would get him to tell me about it later, I decided. He kissed Edaline on the cheek and then sat at the dinner table. "This looks great."

He started eating away at the mashed potatoes and steak before thanking her once again. I quickly stuffed several bites of mashed potatoes in my mouth before pushing my chair out with a screech that sounded like nails on a chalkboard, I cringed. Grady looked up at me confused, "Where are you going?"

"I'm going to go to my room," I said, sensing that they were going to talk about something in private. As I guessed, the second I started walking upstairs they started talking quietly but urgently. I hailed Fitz to ask him if we could meet up at his house, he agreed eagerly and said that Biana was going to be there. I grabbed my matchmaking packets and disappeared and appeared at Everglen. I went up to their gate and called Fitz.

"Hello," His voice answered.

"Could you open the gate?" I asked.

"Oh, yeah, sorry," He apologized. I heard the click and the gate swung inwards.

As soon as I got inside Fitz ran to me and hugged me tightly. He looked at Biana and said, "She finally has her matchmaking packets."

"Oh, that's great," She said genuinely.

"Thanks," I said.

"Okay then, what are we waiting for," Biana said, always eager to start whatever it is that we were doing. We sat in a circle as I flipped through my matchmaking packets.

"Who's your number 1?" Biana asked.

"I'm looking, all these pages are mixed up." After a few minutes of sorting out the pages I swallowed. "It's Fitz."

"Well then why did you-" Biana started but was cut off when Fitz nearly squeezed me to death.

"I'll let you guys have some alone time," Biana said, getting up and shutting the door behind her. Fitz turned to me and his lips lightly brushed mine, I giggled hysterically.

"You know," He whispered, pushing a lock of hair behind my ear. "I made a mistake when we broke up, I stupid mistake that I will never do again."

We kissed for what seemed like hours before he pulled away.

"Sophie, there's something I've been meaning to tell you," He said.

"What is that," I asked.

"It's that I will always love you, no matter what happens." He kissed me again. "I know that we were supposed to be together. From the moment we met."
