‘“I’ll leave in the night by 2 AM tomorrow.”’

Ella looked up at her face in the mirror. Her eyes were dark, of course, she had no enough sleep. She picked a towel and pressed her face on it then spread the towel back and walked back to her bedroom. She picked a shirt that was folded and walked out of her room.

He was up and was staring at the television with his two hands held together and placed on the bridge of his nose.

“The police are on supervision to find a dangerous criminal who is on the run. He is identified as the leader of RMA. If you see a man who looks unfamiliar, please report to the police. And meanwhile, the remaining RMA ran away but one was caught as he is in the questioning room with the police.”

“Shit.” He mumbled as there was a picture of one of his men shown on the television, “That’s Gab.”

Ella looked down at the ‘Gab’ picture. Just like him, they looked like normal human beings that did other things rather than killing people and doing dangerous work. She ignored him and walked into the kitchen, “do you want to eat something?”

The man ignored her as he looked at the television with worry in his eyes.

‘Are they like family or does he just care for them as his men because the look in his eyes is kind of too much.’ Ella looked at him as he had a frown on his face.

‘Did I leave my house today? Nope. What did I do the whole day? It would be suspicious to burn the cloth of his, so I soaked and washed it, I dried it in my bathroom... I was here all long. He did eat some bread but he ate so little. I couldn’t do anything much; I was more worried that he was leaving today. Maybe because I don’t want him to be caught; Not because I was worried about him but I was worried for myself. What if he was caught and they find out he stayed with me.’

Ella looked down at him and he was sitting on the floor with his arms folded and was deep in thought.

‘What is he thinking?’

It was already midnight. He picked himself up and looked back at Ella, “do you have any oversize shirt that I can borrow?”

She bobbled her head softly and walked back to her room. She came back with a black big shirt and she handed it to him silently. The man placed the shirt on the chair, held the end of his shirt, and halted as he saw her staring at him. He cleared his throat awkwardly and turned his back towards her and took off his shirt.

Ella gasped silently at the view. She doesn’t know if she should be saddened by the scars on his back or stunned by the tattoo over his back. The tattoo was connected to the one on his neck.

He put on the black oversized shirt and suddenly, it looked tight on him as if it wasn’t oversized. He wrapped his other shirt and looked back at her, “is there any back road to the east side?”

Ella looked away from the distance to him and bobbed her head silently.

He nodded and walked behind her and to her kitchen and picked up a knife, he wrapped it in his shirt.

“Are you leaving now?” She questioned as she pinned him with her eyes.

‘It's kinda saddening…’

The man looked up at her and nodded his head, “yes. I’ll leave now.”

“But it's not even 1 yet,” she frowned.

The man walked back to the living room and she followed, “I need to be back by 3.” He walked to the front door and held the door knob but she stopped him as she placed hers on his. He was stunned and he looked back at her with his eyebrows raised. Ella took her hand off his and let out a breath.

“I wish you a safe journey,” her pupils were huge as she looked up at his eyes and gave a nervous smile.

The man was taken aback for a second, he straightened himself and nodded. He was about to open the door and he paused and looked back at her, “Ella,” he called, making her shoot her eyes up in surprise, he continued, “stay safe too. And, my name is Alarick.”

He opened the door and walked out of the house and closing the door in her face.

Ella was stunned as she froze in surprise.

‘His name is Alarick.’
