He came out of Ella’s house and closed the door behind him. And as he did, he stooped down to keep his height unseen. He peeped from her fence. And there was no one. He knitted his brows and still carefully walked out from her compound.

‘Kinda expecting that.’

Alarick looked down at the policeman who was long gone as he was sleeping with his mouth open. He shook his head and threw his other wounded shirt on the other side of the road and walked to the opposite.

He walked into a small house in the middle of the forest and there was a man who was dozing off. He was dressed in a security vest. Alarick looked around the ceilings and when he caught a camera, he moved sideways to make sure he wasn’t showing. Then he placed his hand on the table and knocked on it.

“I’m awake, I'm awake,” the man raised his voice as he woke up and wiped off the drool on the side of his face. He looked up at Alarick and his eyes widened, and he suddenly got up on his feet, “Boss.”

“I need your car.” Alarick looked at him.

“Boss!”

Alarick climbed down from the red hatchback car. His eyes met a pair of blue eyes. The brown-headed man rushed to him with concern on his face.

“Are you okay boss?” The blue-eyed man asked as he stood beside Alarick.

Alarick glanced up at the house and looked back at the man, “is everyone okay?”

“Yes, boss. Only a few people got hurt. Are you okay, boss?” The man answered.

“How many are those few? Was it only Gab that was taken?” Alarick slammed the door closed and walked into the house as the man followed.

“Only three were injured and yes, it was only Gab that was taken. Surprisingly, those three were in Gab team,” the man followed him.

They entered the house and Alarick strode into a room and the man followed.

“Where are they now?”

“They are getting treatment in Doc hospital,” he answered again.

As Alarick opened the door, he caught sight of four men and two were those that were with Ella. One with middle blonde hair and the other with black short hair.

“Boss!” They all yelled and stood up on their feet as they saw him.

Alarick ran his eyes through them, “are you guys okay?”

“Yes, boss!”

Alarick nodded and looked down at the big screen, “Steve, what did you find?”

Steve stood on his feet with a paper in his hand, “Gab was captured by the National Police Agency and is now in the headquarters office which is in the city.”

“So, we need to go to the city,” Alarick looked back at him and raised an eyebrow.

“Yes boss,” Another man named Dave answered instead and continued, “but the problem is that it's had to reach there without getting noticed.”

“They have your face and few of us faces too.” Steve continued as he pressed the remote of the controller on the screen which brought out the news of their faces.

“There is a party thou.” Another man named Hagrid said as he looked up from his computer, “It's a masquerade party and it's near the headquarters. It's from 5pm-9pm which is an advantage for us.”

“Then, I’ll make invitation cards for us,” Steve nodded and walked away but he stopped and turned back to Alarick. “How many of us are going, boss?”

Alarick looked down at their faces, “make four. Austin is coming with me and you and Hagrid.”

“Ohkay, boss,” Steve answered and nodded.

Then Alarick walked away with Austin, the man who first met him in the front yard; behind him.

“Damn, boss knows that I went to that bachelor’s party secretly?” Dave whispered as he stared at Steve and Hagrid.

Steve walked away without replying and Hagrid nodded his head and looked away and into his computer.

“Of course, he knows. It's boss for goodness’ sake,” Dave muttered under his breath.

Alarick walked into his room with Austin behind him. Austin closed the door behind them.

“Boss, you were gone for a day. Where did you stay?” Austin questioned.

Alarick let out a huff and picked up a glass on the table, he poured himself a beer and raised it to his lips and drank it. “I was safe and that’s all matters.”

“But boss-”

“Find out about Gab. I’ll rest now,” then he muttered, “I've not f**king rested.” He plumed into the couch and winced as he remembered his wound.

Austin let out a hiss and nodded. He turned to go but stopped, “I was suspicious about something about Gab.”

Alarick looked up at him with an emotionless look on his face, “what?”

“When I went to Gab’s room. His precious things were gone. I don’t know if he did change where he puts them or what but they weren’t there... Like he was planning for this.”

Alarick frowned and looked away from Austin.

“I’ll go now, Boss.” And Austin walked away.

“What about the picture of his grandmother?” Alarick stopped him again, he looked up at Austin with knitted brows.

“I didn’t see it, Boss,” Austin replied.

Alarick shook the thought off, “let's not be suspicious and try to find him instead. That’s what we do. When our member needs our help, we help them.”

Austin nodded, “yes, boss.” He turned to go.

“And!” But was stopped again by Alarick.

“Yes Boss.”

Alarick looked away from him and to the cup of beer in his hand, “I want you to keep an eye on Ella.”

Austin frowned with ceased brows, “who, boss?”

He looked back at Austin with a disbelief look.

“Ah. The lady from before?” He questioned with realization on his face.

“Yes. I want you to keep an eye on her and give me updates too,” Alarick paused and looked back at him, “I want it just between two of us.”

“Okay boss,” Austin nodded.

Alarick nodded back at him giving him a signal to leave but instead, his eyes were on somewhere else with a disgusted look on his face. Austin pointed at the shirt he was wearing, “what’s that?”

Alarick frowned, he looked down at the shirt and there was a bread thingy with cute eyes and red cheeks, and a smile on the shirt. He laughed out of annoyance and cursed under his breath.

“It's a random shirt I took on the street, I’ll change it,” he stood up on his feet and walked into the bathroom.
