Jaiden
I walked into Neveah house hearing laughter I followed the voices and walked into the kitchen.

"Damn," her sisters said as they looked up at me.

"I know right. Chey and Rae meet Jaiden my fiancé."

"Nice to meet you both."

"I know you got cousins or friends fine like you," Rae spoke.

I laughed.

"I definitely have friends."

"You gon put your sister on."

I laughed.

"I'll see what I can do. Where's Sha?"

"His ass is on the phone with one of his hoes."

"Are your parents coming?"

"They should be pulling up how was your day."

"Long but good."

"That's good."

Sha walked into the kitchen.

"I need to do better and settle down."

"Yeah you do."

The front door opened and closed mama Serenity and Clifford walked in.

"Hey mama hey daddy."

"Hey Veah," they both spoke at the same time.

"How was y'all vacation?"

"It was good."

"I'm glad that y'all met."

"Yeah me too."

"Pops you was out there cause how in the world you have 3 kids born in the same year," Sha asked.

"That wasn't even planned but it happened and y'all are here."

"Miss Serenity I gotta know you wasn't jealous of him and my mama," Cheyenne asked.

"I was anytime we got into it he would leave and go right to her and after a few times I did cut him off but he eventually charmed his way back into my life. I knew about Sha what I didn't know was that he had gotten your mother pregnant again and had y'all until it broke on social media right after we had sex. I left him and started dating my ex, we ended up having sex too and it was right around the time that I conceived. I was honest with both of them Clifford wanted a DNA test but I was scared of the results so I never showed. He went on tour and I went on about my life."

"Daddy you was a hoe."

"I was and for awhile I was proud of it but now I don't want that life."

"Jaiden how did you and Veah meet," Rae asked.

"It was 2016 I was a sophomore at CAU and all of the freshmen was moving in on campus I saw Veah and Kelly carrying boxes and when I saw her face I was in awe. I instantly fell for her beauty I walked over to them and asked them could I help. Veah was hesitant but she agreed I helped them get settled in. She thanked me and I left, after awhile she met my sister Asia and they became best friends. Her, Asia and Kelly were inseparable then we finally had a class together I would just stare at her. One day we had a project and the teacher made us partners I was excited but Veah wasn't we talked about the project and then we started to meet up for the project. Near the end of the project I got her to have a real conversation with me that wasn't about class work and from that conversation I fell even harder for her."

I looked over at Neveah and she had a smile on her face.

At the time I didn't know why Jaiden was so interested in me I honestly thought that he was trying to have sex with me and then stop talking to me.

"And everyday after that he would talk to me and walk to me my classes. Asia and Kelly swore up and down that we was a couple or having sex but it was none of that."

"The first time she asked me out I was hurt I sulked for days."

"Then he asked me out again and my answer was no."

"Which I had asked her why and what was your response babe?"

"You're not about to fuck and duck me so I'm good."

"Did that stop you," Rae asked.

"Nope."

"I continued to ask for 9 years."

"Crazy."

"Yeah it is."

"Why were you like that if you don't mind me asking?"

"It's a long story I'll tell it after we eat."

"Okay."

We all fixed our plates sat down and ate dinner. After dinner we're all sitting down in the living room.

"When I was 5 my mom and the guy who I thought was my dad at the time was about to start arguing. My mom came in she placed the noise canceling headphones on my head gave me my favorite coloring book and crayons then she kissed my head and walked out. At first I never knew why she did it until I started to realize that she didn't want me to hear them arguing. Several minutes with by my mom came in she tapped me and removed the headphones. She went on and told me that she was leaving of course I wanted to go because Ima mamas girl and wanted to go everywhere with my mama. She told me that I couldn't, she then told me that she loved me and that she'll be back for me. She kissed and hugged me tightly placed the headphones on my head and walked out of my room."

"Little did my mama know that the day she left me was the same day that my life changed. Later that night my so called dad came in and started to touch me that went on for awhile. I finally spoke up and told my cousin Kelly, he was arrested but he ended getting right out due to his family working for the justice system. Right before I turned 16 Kelly gave me a phone for me to call her when I needed her. I kept the phone hidden as he continued to molest me," I paused.

"Take your time baby."

I nodded.

"On my 16th birthday I had a party which was fun and I got to see a lot of my mom side of the family. Once everyone left and I was getting ready for bed he came in and raped me. Once he was finished he left I immediately called Kelly told her she told me to pack what I could and that she'll send me a location. We hung up and I packed what I could and hauled ass up out of the there."

"Oh wow."

"Every time I would go to the bar where he was  he would brag about what he just done to Neveah. I would beat his ass and end up in jail each time. I knew that Neveah was my daughter I had that gut feeling I just needed a dna test to prove it. I tried getting custody but because Serenity was locked up and his family worked the system there wasn't anything I could do."

"I ended up going to therapy to heal myself of all of the hurt and pain I been through I graduated top of my high school class and had a full ride scholarship to CAU. I had made a vow to myself that I'll never let a guy get close to me ever again which was why I wasn't giving Jaiden the time of day."

"Not only that you didn't think that I was attracted to you."

"Yeah that too."

"You don't got no beautiful dark skin friends?"

I looked at Sha.

"Not besides my assistant Tasha."

My doorbell rung I stood up and walked over to the door. I unlocked the door seeing Tasha covered in blood she was shaking and crying.
