I was woken out of my sleep by Neveah calling me she sounded nervous and anxious so I didn't waste no time with getting over to her house to see what's wrong with her.

"Thank you for coming," she spoke as she let me in.

"No problem. What's going on," I spoke as I walked in and closed the door behind me.

We walked into the living room and sat down.

"The dna results came in."

"Have you opened them?"

She shook her head no.

"I sent a message to Clifford and my mama after I called you."

"How do you feel?"

"Anxious and nervous to see what the results says."

"Do you think that it's going to change a lot?"

"Yeah it is I hope I don't get upset."

I nodded.

"I'm here for you."

We heard her front door opened and closed.

"We got your 911 text Veah what's wrong," mama Serenity spoke as she walked in.

"The dna results came in and I wanted to open them with y'all I called Jaiden over as well."

"Okay."

I watched as Neveah picked up the envelope and opened the envelope she pulled out the papers and read over them. Then she tossed the papers down and stood up.

"Why," she spoke.

"Why what Veah talk to me?"

"I went through sexual abuse from the age of 5-16 and you didn't try and fight for custody of me."

"You don't think that I've tried that Neveah I did he got court orders to his house about getting a dna test done on several occasions and he didn't show up I kept trying and he never showed up. I tried to even talk him to letting me get you that didn't work nothing I did worked I had a gut feeling that you were my daughter that's why I was always around you I've been to jail over you when I learned what he was doing to you because he was bragging about it. That shit messed with me I ended up going to therapy."

"Wait a minute you've been arrested?"

"More than once from beating his ass about Veah this bitch was touching my daughter and no one wanted to do a wellness check I asked but because his people work with the system they overlooked it."

"Now that his family no longer works for the system they all will be facing the consequences of their actions," my mama spoke.

Neveah sat down next to me I saw that her hands was shaking and I grabbed her making her look at me.

"Calm down deep breaths."

She nodded and closed her eyes the tears trickled down her face.

"Which means you will be getting or already gotten an email about your settlement from them."

"A settlement," Neveah asked she opened her eye.

"Yes even though I was suing the police department I also made sure that Jaiden sued the entire McDaniel family."

Neveah looked at me.

"You didn't tell me this?"

"That's because mama Serenity wanted to be the one that told you."
