There was a knock on my room door and I yelled for whoever it was to come in.
"Where are you going tonight," my mama asked.
"I have a date tonight?"
"With who?"
"Jaiden."
"Finally gave him a chance?"
"I did."
My mama walked further in the room.
"I'm glad that you did."
"Where have you been these last couple nights?"
"I've been having a date."
"With who?"
"Please don't judge me."
"I'm not."
"Angela."
"A woman?"
"Yes no it's not official im just seeing where things go."
"Okay mama as long as you're happy I'm happy."
"I'm going to use the bathroom."
"Okay mama."
I finished up with doing my makeup and I was about to start on my hair when the doorbell rung I checked the time seeing that it was not time for Jaiden to come and pick me up I made my way downstairs. Once I got to the door I looked out the peephole seeing a man I furrowed my eyebrows and I grabbed my taser that was nearby and I opened the door.
"Clifford what are you doing here?"
"Is your mom here I need to talk to her."
"Yeah she's here she's in the bathroom."
"Okay mind if I come in."
I stepped aside and let him in I heard footsteps coming towards us.
"Veah who's at the door," my mama voice trailed off as she walked in the foyer.
"Clifford."
"Hey Serenity."
"What are you doing here?"
"I came to see you it's been years since I've seen you."
"Ima leave you two alone to talk."
"I never got my answer from you Serenity."
I want to move and finish getting ready but I can't.
"She's not yours."
Wait a minute.
"I'm sorry."
"Mama you have another daughter."
"No he's talking about you Veah."
"Huh?"
"Me and your mama dated about 26 years ago we ended things right before I went on tour and we slept together right before I left and a few weeks later I got a call from Serenity telling me that she's pregnant but she didn't know who the father was and I asked for a dna test and she agreed to it funny thing is I never got the results."
What the fuck.
"So are you sure that she's not mine Serenity," he asked.
She sighed.
"I don't know I never got the dna test done too scared of the outcome."
"So you let another man raise Neveah when she could possibly be mine."
