It's my first day at my new job at the art museum. I'm super nervous. I straightened my dress with my hands and starred myself down in the mirror. I graduated collage a week ago with Riley, Farkle, and Lucas and we all are super excited for summer. But, I said that was going to get a job this summer at the art museum because I love art.

"Maya! Are you ready?!" Riley shouted from the hallway

"Yea, I'm ready." I said

I gave myself another look in the mirror before I opened the door to see a smiling Riley. I live with my mom and Shawn, but Riles wanted me to get ready for my first day at her apartment.

"Maya, you look amazing!" Riley cheered walking with me downstairs

"Thanks Riles." I smiled

We got downstairs and everyone was waiting there. Topanga, Corey, My mom, Shawn, and Auggie.

"My baby! You look amazing!" My mom cooed

"That's what I said!" Riley giggled

I checked the time on my phone and realized I had to leave. I looked up at everyone and said my goodbyes.

"Bye! Love you!" I yelled running out the door

I got out to my mom's car and drove to the museum. I got out of the car and started to get nervous. I walked up the steps and opened the front door. I walked up to the main desk and the lady there told me to go the Mrs.Robinson's office. I took the elevator up to where the offices were and knocked on her door.

"Come in." she said

I walked in nervously and she told me to take a seat. I sat down and took a deep breath.

"Maya Hart?" she asked picking up a bunch of papers

"Yes." I said

"Well, I'm Mrs. Robinson and I run the department that you'll be working in this summer. I'll have Jacob show you around and take you to your office after I finish with these papers." she said

I nodded not knowing what to say and continued sitting there looking around the room. Someone knocked on the door and Mrs. Robinson told the person to come in. When the boy stopped in the room I was shocked. I haven't seen him in really long time.

"Mrs. Robinson, Sara needs the papers back from yesterday." he said

He turned to me. His brown eyes lit up and he looked kinda shocked but smiled at me and I didn't know what to say.

"Here are the papers Sara needs." Mrs. Robinson said

"Hey, Maya. It's been a while." Josh said

"Yeah, it has." I said smiling

Mrs. Robinson cleared her throat and Josh realized that she was holding the papers he came to get. He grabbed the papers and thanked Mrs. Robinson.

"You two know each other?" She asked

"Yea, we're good friends." Josh smiled

I don't know why but those words hurt me. They don't hurt as much as they did when I had a HUGE childhood crush on him, but they still hurt.

"Well, since Jacob hasn't shown up yet, why don't you show Maya around and when your finished, show her to her office." Mrs. Robinson said

No. No. No. No. Please no. I haven't talked to him in two years and now he's gonna show me around. I didn't even know that he works here.

"Ok. Come on Maya." Josh said waving his arm

I got up and followed him out the door. He smiled and said hello to some people as we were walking. He knows a lot of people.

"So," Josh said coming closer to me as we walked " how are you? How have you been?" He asked

"I'm good, I'm excited to start this job." I smiled

"How has Riley been?" He asked

"She's great. Always perky and happy. She was dating a guy before graduation but they broke up so we've been spending more time together." I explained

"That's cool. Did she really like him?" Josh asked

"No, I think she just wanted a boyfriend but we started spending less time together and she dumped him." I said looking at the ground

Josh stopped walking and I almost bumped into him. I looked up at him annoyed and he gave me a slight smile.

"Are you okay?" He asked

"I'm always okay." I said with a fake smile

"Maya, I know something's wrong." Josh said

The truth is, he's what's wrong. Josh left two years ago to an art program. He didn't keep in contact with Riley or I and we kinda got upset with him. I mean, two years not hearing from him was hard. Both Riley and I stopped trying to call him and stuff because he would never pick up.

"Nothing's wrong Josh, can we just keep going? I wanna start working asap." I said not looking him in the eyes

"Yea, okay." Josh huffed and he started walking again

Maya and Josh see each other again. Maya's kinda upset with Josh for not calling her or Riley while he was gone.
