A FEW WEEKS LATER
"From the way you're using my whole body as a mattress, I would assume you're the one who has just come back from a 6-hour long practice and a big game tomorrow."
Jaeyun peaked his head up, jokingly glaring at his soulmate as he proceeded to make himself more comfortable on Sunghoon's chest, ignoring the faux complaints the older was throwing at him.
"Pup, please, " Sunghoon whined, shuffling them around so that Jaeyun was now laying on his side, a not-so-satisfied pout evident on his lips. Oh, what the raven would do just to kiss him senseless right here and now.
Jaeyun threw an arm and a leg around the vampire's body, not giving him even a second to think about escaping their cuddle session.
"Wow, are you not even going to question your incredibly smart, handsome and athletically-gifted soulmate about his tiresome practice or the incredibly important soccer game tomorrow? You're just going to use me as some sort of body pillow and sleep into my armpit like that?"
"You're right," Jaeyun said, making Sunghoon lighten up a bit because he was fairly certain that the half-blood was going to pass out then and there, yet his hope died soon after, "your armpits stink."
And with that, the brunette placed his head on the vampire's shoulder, closing his eyes and exhaling in comfort, totally oblivious to Sunghoon's offended expression.
"Really?"
"Fine," Jaeyun mumbled, opening his eyes and steadying his head on his folder arm, looking at his soulmate with shiny eyes, "please tell me all about the game I can't even support you in."
Sunghoon pouted back at him, moving his body and adjusting his own head on his arm to mirror Jaeyun, "Is this why you've been so sulky recently?"
The half-blood huffed, averting eye contact for a second before nodding his head, "I just don't like the idea of having to wait on the sidelines and being forced to cheer for a team I don't even know a single member of instead of my boyf-" he stopped himself and Sunghoon's breathing as well.
The two hadn't discussed the topic yet - about what their relationship status was. To Sunghoon, it didn't fully matter because, at the end of the day, Jaeyun will and forever be his soulmate, but he also notices how giddy his stomach feels when the brunette implies that they're more than that. That they're more than just a fated link.
"I just don't like it," Jaeyun explained, still looking around the room nervously, his previous slip-up reduced to nothing but a note on the back of Sunghoon's head tilted 'Things To Bring Up To Jaeyun'.
"I would feel pretty heartbroken if I saw you cheering for someone who isn't me," the raven teased, trying to lighten the mood once more, which Jaeyun was grateful for.
The half-blood groaned, dissatisfied with the stupid rules of the school, "Why can't we all just get along?"
Sunghoon patted his back in sympathy, but knew nothing will change for a while - this is the way it has always been and it's been working for the most part. As much as he'd want Jaeyun to not have to hide his true identity or as much as he'd want to venture to the werewolf side, he himself still wasn't so keen on bringing the two species together. It was definitely going to take more than a cute soulmate for Sunghoon to be comfortable around werewolves in secluded areas and he feels the others feel the same towards vampires.
"Why don't you just not go then? Especially if you don't have anyone to support on the werewolves team?" he asked curiously, knowing that the male definitely wouldn't be going to such a crowded event willingly on his own.
"Jiwon's performance," he simply explained, earning a realisation hum from his soulmate, "I promised to support her."
"I see, pup," Sunghoon synthesised, moving his hand higher to ruffle the gentle brown locks, "then how about we both take a rest for tomorrow, hm?"
Jaeyun agreed without hesitation, moving closer to snuggle deep into Sunghoon's chest, a satisfied sigh leaving his lips as the vampire went back to stroking his lower back.
