Chapter 24

Sabrina's POV

"I don't know. He was acting..... not himself. He forgot an assignment! Bradley is big on grades and never forgets what he needs to do for school. Homework on Friday, he'll do it right after school. I feel like he just can't tell me what's bothering him, he says he's fine but he's obviously not. What should I do?"

"Sab, if there is obviously something wrong maybe he just isn't ready to talk, give him some time and maybe he'll tell you when he wants to tell you. Two to four days should do the trick," Sarah said.

I nodded and smiled, "Okay, thanks for coming here. I really needed some advice and I can't talk about it with Rowan."

Sarah raised her brow, "What's going on between you and Rowan?"

I sighed. "She seems to be keeping something from me too,"

"What?"

"Remember Zoey?"

"The backstabbing b who stole Row's boyfriend? I remember her perfectly,"

"Yeah, well Rowan just.... Started hanging out with her again. She's acting how they were before the incident, as if it never happened,"

"Okay.... maybe she just decided to forgive her. You know, forgive and forget?"

"Yeah, but you know Rowan, she holds grudges. Not just grudge for two days, grudge as in she would still be mad at her unless what they did was for a good reason. Remember Donny?"

"Oh yeah! He took a Penny from her piggy bank and she wouldn't talk to him until 6 months after his mom gave her a new penny."

"Exactly! What Zoey did was a much bigger deal and she doesn't seem to care! Again, not herself."

"Wow, you have more drama than me!"

"Ok, Sar, enough about me what's going on with you?"

"Oh ok so yester-"

"Oh yeah I forgot to tell you," I said cutting her off, "Nick's back!"

"Nick? As in your best friend that left you the day after your first kiss? Your first 'i love you' to a guy that isn't related? Your fir-"

"Yes! That Nick!"

"Do you still love him?"

"No! Of course not! We were young and naive! The I love you's didn't mean anything! Plus, I haven't seen him in what? 3 years? He was my first kiss and 'I love you' of course I got carried away. Don't worry, nothing's gonna happen,"

"I'm ok with it, the question is are you? I mean it's not like you're with anybody..."

Oh yeah.... I mean it's not like I'm with Bradley. Wait.. Why did I even think about him?

"I'm okay with dating, just not Nick. We haven't seen each other in a while, I don't know if he's the same Nick I knew 3 years ago."

"Okay. Well I have to go run some errands for mom. Do you need a ride home?" Oh yeah.... Bradley was my ride.

"Yep,"

~ Rowan's POV ~

I was walking home when I saw Sabrina get out of Sarah's car and waving goodbye. I ran over to her.

"Hey Sab!"

She turned and seemed mad when she realized it was me. Okay... Why?

"Hey,"

She started heading towards her front door. Something's up. I grabbed her shoulder and turned her around.

"Sabrina, I know you. You're mad right now and I don't know why. You wanna tell me what's going on?"

"I have to go you can just hang out with Zoey while I'm gone. You didn't seem to care when I left you yesterday during lunch.."

"Oh god, Sabrina I'm so sorry!"

She took out her keys from her bag.

"It's fine, I met an old friend... I saw Nick again."

"Nick's back?"

"Yeah, but you didn't seem to notice him or me because you were too busy hanging out with Zoey , the one who helped your stupid boyfriend break your heart that I had to fix. Rowan I honestly don't know why you're hanging out with that b**ch!"

"Don't call her a b**ch!" I yelled back.

Sabrina's eyes filled with hurt.

"Sabrina... I'm so sor-"

"I have to go, I have to help my mom with some things. See you later, Rowan."

She turned around and unlocked her door. She walked in and slammed it. Hard.

I closed my eyes. I have to tell her.
