Sabrina's POV

2 years later

"No, Rowan I am not even going!" I said as Rowan shoves two dresses in my face, trying to get me to choose between the two. It was senior year, and prom was tomorrow night.

"What!? Sabrina, come on. It's senior prom. The last prom of your high school life."

"What's the point! Rowan, you're not even going! I don't want to go to prom without my best friend! Besides, Bradley never even asked me...."

"You guys have been dating for two years! Maybe he just assumed that you guys were going."

I shook my head.

"No. Bradley asked me last year even when we were dating! I mean prom is tomorrow! He probably doesn't want to go with me!"

"Fine. Don't go to prom. JUST KNOW THAT THIS IS YOUR LAST YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL AND YOU ARE GOING TO REGRET THIS FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!" She said pretending to have a fit and being all dramatic.

I rolled my eyes. She looked at me and stopped pretending to cry.

"Can you at least think about it?" She asked seriously.

"Ok fine. That doesn't mean I'm going!" I said pointing a finger at her "I'm just going to think about it!"

Rowan grinned.

"Ok. Let's go to school."

Rowan's POV

I hopped into Sabrina's car. As she pulled out of the driveway I took out my phone and texted Bradley.

Can you hurry the f up!? Sabrina is beginning to think you don't want to go to prom with her! Who the heck asks a day before prom!?

After a minute or so Bradley replied

I'm sorry! I haven't gotten it perfected quite yet! I'm going to ask her today. Can you bring her to the roof of the school at lunch time

I grinned. There was a greenhouse on the roof.

Ok. I texted back. This is going to be soooo romantic. I'm so happy for Sabrina. I would have been psyched about prom but... I don't have anyone to go with. After the whole Peyton's dad had cancer thing Peyton and Zoey's mom stayed with us for about a week. The siblings would visit their father almost every day. They did this for weeks. But..... There was this one day. This one visit. They came back home with food and Sabrina, Bradley and I were waiting for them like we did every time they went to go visit their dad. But that time wasn't like every other time. Something happened, anyone could tell. When they walked through the door you could immediately see the fear/sadness in their eyes. We tried asking them what was wrong, but they kept saying it was nothing. That night, both Zoey and Peyton texted all of us. They just said that they were sorry if they were acting weird, that they loved us. The next morning, Sab and I went to their apartment and they were gone. Everything was gone. No couch, no food in their fridge, bedrooms were empty, the apartment was completely vacant. We haven't seen them since.

"Alright we're here" Sabrina said breaking my thoughts. She could see the sadness in my face and immediately knew what I was thinking about. "Rowan... I miss them too." She said enveloping me in a hug.

"They didn't even leave us a note! Peyton was my boyfriend! Zoey was my best friend! We didn't even get to say goodbye...." I said. I then realized I was crying.

Sabrina pulled away from our hug.

"We may never know if they're coming back or why they left. All we can do is move on with our lives and hope that we'll see them again." Sabrina said. She nudged me playfully "besides I remember hearing you say it was our senior year. Let's enjoy it while we can."
