For this story, your parents and brother (Jacob) were killed by Moldy Voldy. Enjoy!!

Y/n POV:
It was Friday, the last lesson before lunch. Double Potions.
I sat in my usual seat in the front row, listening to Professor Slughorn drawl about the potion we'd be brewing in pairs.
"I will now read out the pairs, as soon as your name has been said, you may start."

He started reading, slowly going through the list of people. Finally, I heard the sound of my name being called out.
Y/n L/n and Sirius Black.

No. No, no, no, no, no. No.

Said person flashed me his cocky smile, lazily strolling over to me. I rolled my eyes, my calm demeanour masking all other emotions, like I had trained myself over the years. I have had enough practice, Sirius and his friends the 'Marauders' had made sure if that. They bullied me ever since the first school year, but my sixteen year old self had mastered the skill of not giving a shit or at least pretending to.

I got the ingredients from the store cupboard as slowly as possible, using the opportunity to get away from the dark haired boy now hovering around my desk.

Why did it have to be him?

As I walked back, I caught the eye of one of my friends, Alice Fortescue, sending her a grimace. She smiled kindly and gave me the look saying 'you'll be fine'.
But I wasn't.

The lesson was almost over and I was just adding the powdered root of Asphodel as the last ingredient, massively triggered because of my 'partner's' lack of participation, when I overheard a sentence snatch.
"... why don't you just tell her, you're not usually like this with girls..."

I turned away, wiping my hands on my skirt and restraining from rolling my eyes again. Probably just one of Sirius' one -night-stands.

Slughorn dismissed the class and I started to pack my things together, gathering my books up in my arms and only throwing my cloak over my shoulders, when a familiar snarky voice sounded from behind me.
"Where you going L/n? Off to cry to mum and dad? Oh wait, how 'bout to dear ol' Jacob? Right, can't do that either! Guess you just have to run to a teacher then!"

I turned to face the group of boys. In the front: Sirius Black and his best friend James Potter, they share half a braincell, behind them, ratty Peter Pettigrew and in the back Remus Lupin, looking rather uncomfortable, but not too much to say something.

"Rich coming from you." I retorted, head held high, though trying not to show what affect his words had had.

"At least my family is still alive and I have friends, sounds nice? Well, keep dreaming."

I looked at him, shocked, he had always been mean, but to stoop this low...
"Rot in hell."
I spun on my heel and ran out of the classroom into Moaning Myrtles bathroom.

Sirius POV:
Lunch; Y/n didn't show up. Probably crying in her dorm. I thought shrugging it off, why would I care bout her?
Why would I care about her?

Dinner; Y/n is nowhere to be found. Nobody saw her or heard from her as far as I could find out. Her best friend, Alice Fortescue, sat at the other end of the Gryffindor table, eating her mashed potatoes and talking to Frank Longbottom. Maybe she knew where Y/n was, I mean, they were best friends after all.
I walked over to her, tapping her on the shoulder. She turned towards me, looked me up and down and turned back to Longbottom, continuing her conversation.
"Where's Y/n?"
"She doesn't want to talk to anyone, especially not you."
"But I really have to talk to her!!"
"Should've thought about that before saying those nasty things about her."
"Oh come on, I was just joking around."
She whipped around, eyes flashing dangerously.
"You call making fun of her family's murder a joke, Black? What is wrong with you?!" She said raising her voice, attracting quite a few looks.
"I- uhh, it's not- well it-," I began only to be interrupted by her voice again.
"Y/n is the sweetest person I know and she tried so, so, so hard, to make the best out of the situation and you can't even bother to realise how much you have scarred her!! Her fucking family is dead and you're here making everything about you and joking about things, of which you haven't even got the faintest idea of. And don't look at me that way, you know damn well that I'm right and you deserved this." She slapped him, "That too."
Then, she turned on her heel, very much like her friend had done hours before and ran out of the hall.
