Oliver Wood x Fem!Slytherin Reader
Wind whistled as rain lashed at my face, making it numb with cold. I wiped the soaked sleeve of my Quidditch robes over my goggles, trying desperately to penetrate the sky before me with my gaze. The commentary of the match was muffled by the whistling and howling of the wind and the only sounds clear to me were the rapid beat of my heart and my ragged breathing.
There was a silence in the stands and then it erupted. Even through the pounding rain and the sound of the wind I could hear the commentary.
"Slytherin wins the match by 270:110."Cheering, I met my team on the ground, immediately being tackled ton a group hug by all team members.
"Great shots, Y/n/n!"
"Awesome play!"
"You really are the best chaser!"
Being complimented these things by the Slytherin Quidditch team was one thing, but being the only girl in a boys team was another.
I grinned broadly, clapping the boys in green and silver robes on their backs as they left for the changing rooms, watching as, slowly, the red and gold clad team disappeared into the locker rooms and the supporters in the stands steadily shrunk.
Soon, it was completely silent on the pitch except for the pattering of the rain on the wood. I waited another five minutes in the rain, just to be sure everyone was gone and I could return to the common room without any commotion.I changed and showered, stuffing my soaked robes into my bag and stepping beneath the warm flow of the shower head.
After the shower, I pulled on a pair of baggy, washed-out, black jeans and a knitted oversize Slytherin jumper. Grabbing my wand and my bag, I pushed open the door of the locker room and stepped out into the ceasing rain, holding my wand tip up into the air and casting a charm that repelled rain.I trudged through the muddy grounds, enjoying the peace and smiling unconsciously.
"Nice match." A voice behind me made me swivel around.
I stared into the dark brown eyes of none other than Oliver Wood, captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team.
"Ah yes, captain dipshit," I paused, smirking, "I've been wondering how long it would take you to seek me out this time."
He chuckled lowly, "Oh come on, you know you love me."
"Don't flatter yourself."
"You said it yourself, I'm not as bad as others."
"That doesn't mean you're not a pain in the ass in total, genius." I sneered, tugging my right leg out of the mud with a moist squelch.
I wrinkled my nose at the sound, causing Wood to release ant other low chuckle.
"Shut it." I muttered, tightening the hold on my bag as we ascended the stairs into the castle. We began our way through the corridors and winding passageways. Suddenly the Gryffindor stopped. I turned, facing him, wearing the frown I reserved only for him.
"What?"
"Aren't you gonna- aren't you gonna go to the... party?"
"Wanna get rid of me already, Wood? And here I was thinking we were having a moment." I joked, grinning.
"No- It's just- I thought this was... nice."
I paused letting my eyes travel over him. His grey sweats, the white shirt, not covering his toned chest very effectively. It was wet at the shoulders from the rain and his hair. The messy hair, still dripping and the brownish-gold eyes, so enchanting, I felt I could look into them forever.
"Oh," I breathed, not knowing what to say, still very shocked that he could look so good. I mean, I knew the Gryffindor Quidditch captain was attractive, but not that attractive and I had known him for almost seven years. "That's... nice."
Great job, Y/n! The sarcastic voice in my head commented. To my surprise, Wood smiled and I felt my cheeks flush. Mentally slapping myself for being so easily flustered I decided to keep the conversation going.
"And you? Aren't you going to return to your team?"
"Don't feel like it," He muttered, lowering his gaze to the floor.
I hummed in understanding and motioned for him to keep walking with me.For about ten more minutes we walked together, talking and laughing lowly as we told each other bad jokes. Then we stopped. I glanced around, only now realising that we had gone all the way from the Quidditch pitch to the top of the Astronomy Tower.
I breathed out a quiet "Oh," when I saw the setting sun over the black lake, reflecting off the pitch black water.
Stepping towards the railing, I wrapped my fingers around the cool metal, knowing Oliver was close behind me.For a while we just stood there in silence, staring peacefully into the distance until Oliver interrupted the silence. "Y/n," He paused, turning his face to look at me, "I need to tell you something."
I raised an eyebrow at him, not reacting any further, while on the inside I was already imagining all the things he could be saying right now, one in particular stuck in my mind.
"I...I like you, like, a lot."
I just stared into his brown eyes, not believing my ears. When I didn't answer, his face dropped and he averted his eyes, muttering indistinctly.
"M'sorry, I shouldn't have- I'll just- I'm just gonna go."
"NO!" Oops, that came out a little fast. "I mean, no. Please, Woo- Oliver. I- I like you too, a lot."
"You- what? You like me back? Ha! This is the best day of my life!"
"Don't flatter yourself, captain." I giggled, pulling him in by his shirt and smashing my lips onto his. Surprised, he stared at me, then he closed his eyes and smiled into the kiss.
When we pulled away, his hair was ruffled and his lips red.
"Oh, what the school will say when they find out." I said, running my fingers through my hair.
"I know." I looked at him with a frown, his smile only grew. "They'll say: I wish I were him."——————
