The room was dimly lit, the only source of light coming from the bedside lamp on my side as I worked my way through the pages of my book.
Strong arms wrapped around my waist and I felt soft fingers caress the exposed skin on my stomach.
"Darling," My lover's deep voice was laced with tiredness, "Can we please go to sleep?"

My heart skipped at his voice, even though I had known him almost my whole life, he never ceased to conjure butterflies within me.

I sighed deeply, raising a hand and stroking his soft, red hair with it. "But baby, my chapter isn't done yet." He groaned in exasperation and tightened his grip on my waist. "Please, my love, I'm tired."
"You can close your eyes already, Georgie, I'll be done in a few—,"
"Y/nnnnnn, please," He whined, "Cuddle me."
"Alright," I gave in— how could I possibly turn down an offer for cuddles?

As soon as I set my book down and turned off the light, George pulled me into him, resting his head against my chest as I placed my chin on his head. A smile tugged at my lips as he began to hum, his voice vibrating against my chest.

Even though I would never admit it to George, it was good that I had stopped reading— I was exhausted.
The moment I closed my eyes, I felt myself being pulled into the depths of my dreams. With George softly humming, holding me close, sleep came easy to me and, before I knew it, I was already fast asleep.

I think this was the shortest one shot I've ever written, but it is 30 minutes passed midnight and I should really be asleep by now, but an idea is an idea (still, don't copy me, I'll be really grumpy tomorrow morning).
