Draco POV:
It was the summer holidays and I had decided to stay at Blaise's house for a few weeks as long as the Dark Lord occupied our manor.
Currently, we were sitting on his bed, talking about everything there was to talk about— especially girls.
"So, anyone that caught your fancy?" Blaise's question came unexpectedly, as if he were trying to prompt me, to get the answer he wanted.
"No." My voice was neutral, like every time he asked me, giving away no emotion to whether I was lying or not.
"C'mon, you gotta fancy someone!" He huffed, leaning back on his hands, legs stretched out on the bed. I shook my head again, sending him my signature smirk, "Even if there were someone, I wouldn't tell you or the whole school would know in less than ten minutes." His face split into a wide grin and he smacked my shoulder, faking indignation, though after a few moments of thought, he answered, "Yes, I suppose."
We broke out into laughter, though it wasn't that funny.

That was when there was a knock on the door. We both turned our heads and my eyes fell upon the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I had to pull myself together as not to have my jaw on the floor, though I couldn't help but stare.
"Blaise, you sound like a pack of hyenas." She said, raising an eyebrow at him and brushing back her hair.
"What, Y/n?" Blaise rolled his eyes at the girl.
Y/n. What a pretty name.
"I just came to tell you that mum is taking the next week off and we'll have the house to ourselves for a while— she's taking a trip to the Bahamas for a little bit of alone time— or so she said."
My best friend nodded, "Alright. Oh and Y/n? This is Draco."
She looked at me, her e/c eyes scanning me. "Okay."
"Maybe say hello?"
"Hello, Draco." She said, raising her eyes to hold eye contact with me. I pulled myself out of my trance, smiling at her, feeling my cheeks turn pink. She laughed when she saw my face. "Anyways, I'm making a smoothie? Want one?"
Blaise looked at me, then nodded, "But no—,"
"Orange juice, I know." She smiled again, turning to me, "Would you like one?"
"I— uhh— Yeah, that would be... nice." I stuttered mentally slapping myself for acting like a fool in front of her.
"Okay," One last smile, then she disappeared from the doorway, leaving me staring at the space where she had been.

The next few days, I kept seeing Y/n around the house, getting used to her presence until I was finally not as awkward as before, even having small conversations with her.

It was around 2am, I had woken up from a full bladder and had not been able to fall asleep again, so I lay awake in a guest bedroom, replaying all the interactions with Y/n. I felt my cheeks redden even now when I just thought of her smile, her voice, the way she walked or how she said my name— the way it rolled off her tongue with such ease. I was just thinking about her lips, how soft they looked how kissable, when a voice from the door interrupted my thoughts.
"Psst," I raised my head off of the pillow, squinting at the door. It was slightly ajar and I inhaled sharply when Y/n stuck her head through the gap. "You awake?"
"Yeah," I whispered back, straightening up, the sheet i had been covered in falling off my shoulders, exposing my toned chest. I thought I saw her eyes lingering on it, but it might just have been my imagination. She slowly took a step into the room, closing the door again. She was wearing an oversized shirt, covering her torso and half of her thighs. "Can I—?"
I nodded and she continued her way through the room, sitting down on the edge of my bed, avoiding my eyes.

"What's wrong?" I asked softly, cocking my head to the side.
"Nightmare...," She muttered, her cheeks turning a pale pink as she continued to look everywhere, except for me.
I exhaled into the silence, sitting up fully. She glanced at me, immediately averting her gaze again.
"Hey, love," I cooed, lifting my hand to turn her chin so she faced me, "Don't be embarrassed, everyone has nightmares— I have them too."
Her eyes were big as she watched me, "Y-You do?"
"Yes, you dont have to be embarrassed or scared, its just a dream. I know they're scary, but they're not real. Come here." I lay back, opening my arms for her. She glanced at the door, then back at me, as though torn. "But Blaise—,"
"Shhh, don't worry, darling."

As soon as she lay down, I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her body closer to mine. She clung onto me, burying her head in the crook of my neck and slowing her breathing. Soon, she was fast asleep in my arms, lying almost on top of me with one hand in my hair and the other hanging loosely by my side.
I breathed in her scent, feeling butterflies erupt in my stomach. I made sure she was sleeping before closing my eyes too and allowing sleep to take me too.
