The Bug I Let Go

"There's A Beetle In My Kitchen.
Oh It's Way Up On The Ceiling.
I Did, I Tried To Kill It,
But I Had A Sinking Feeling.

No Stinger, And No Venom,
Why, It Couldn't Hurt A Fly.
And If I So Big, Kill He So Small,
Then Who On Earth Am I?

Oh It's Just A Little Thing,
It Sits So Far Away,
It Minded It's Own Business,
So Why Can He Not Stay?

Why, I Bet He Has A Family,
A Home, I'm Sure He's Lost.
Now I Could, I Could Set Him Free,
And It'd Be Without A Cost.

So That Day I Learnt Something,
As I Had Thought Before I'd Act.
That I Should Not Kill, If Letting Go,
Will Leave Us Both Intact.

So I Set Him Free Out In The Yard,
And You Never Would Believe;
But My Soils Been Much Softer,
Since The Day I Let Him Leave."
