It would have been nice
If you could have stopped to pray.
The people that you looked past
Where are they today?
The people that you thought of last,
When you had looked away.
The people that you could have known
If only time could tell.
The friendships that you could have made.
The people you knew well.
If only it was meant to be,
If only you could have learnt;
What happened to that little girl,
After your head turned?
Remember that old man or woman?
You never knew the love they craved.
And if only you had known the child,
That your smile saved.
All the people you walked past
If only you had stopped to pray
You never know what happened
After you looked away."
