On Prom night....
Sammie hear the screech of a microphone, followed by Tucker's voice booming over the music. She turn to look at him on the stage.
Tucker: All right, esteemed guests, it's that special moment you've all been waiting for. Let's find out who gets the crown tonight!
Sammie: Wooooooo!
Kara: Finally!
Tucker: Would all the finalists for prom king and queen please line up on the stage so that Principal Rivera can do the honors?
Sammie take her place on the stage with the other finalists for prom queen, her heart beating a mile a minute.
Kara: Excuse you, this is my spot!
She puts her hands on her lips and glares at Sammie.
Sammie: Kara, Fine. It's just a spot.
Kara: Good girl. Now I'm sure to win prom queen.
Sammie: I mean, the votes have already been counted, but whatever.
Sammie shrugs and move to the side of the stage. Back up front, Tucker hands the mic to Principal Rivera.
Principal Rivera: Good evening, everyone!
She takes an envelope out of her pocket and reads.
Principal Rivera: Oliver M. Berry High School's 2019 prom king and queen are....
Max:.....
Kara:.....
Sammie:....
Principal Rivera: Tucker Smith and Samantha "Sammie" Clifford!
Sammie: I won?!
Tucker: And I won?
Sammie and Tucker hurry excitedly up to the front as Principal Rivera sets crowns onto their heads.
Sammie:....
Tucker: So, tbh, this is so unexpected that I didn't even come up with a joke for the occasion. Sorry if anyone's disappointed.
Kieran: Go Tucker!
Tucker: What about you, Sammie? Anything you want to say?
Sammie chokes up and thinks she starts to cry.
Sammie: I can't believe it! (Sniffs) I know that win is supposed to be my lucky day and I am so happy! So, I want to thank someone who is supporting me! That person is my girlfriend Emma! I don't know what I'd do without you.
Sammie blow her a kiss as several 'awww's erupt from the crowd.
Emma:....
Principal Rivera: Let's hear it one more time for our prom king and--
Kara: Now hold it just a minute! There must be some mistake!
Tucker: No mistakes. Miss Maria Flores counted the ballots herself--
Kara: Of course Maria said I didn't win! She's from Berry!
Tucker: And Miss Zoe Leon checked her work.
Max: This is an out--
Tucker cuts Max off by pulling the mic away from him.
Tucker: What was that, Mr. DJ? Time to start the slow dance? Great idea! Everyone, find that special someone!
As the song 'The Captain of her Heart' by Double starts, Sammie step off the stage and onto the crowded dance floor.
Sammie: Emma? Where are you?
