The past few years have been really peaceful. Iremelin saved up enough money to move, and we bought a nice house in a safer part of the city, which was also closer to all of the movie stuff in Hollywood. Leo and I had our own rooms and were free to decorate them however we wanted. I had chosen to paint my walls a neutral creamish-white with one wall being sage green. I had placed my queen-sized bed with grey sheets and a black comforter in the corner of the room and my nightstand right next to it. My walls were covered with different albums, vinyl records, and posters of my favorite bands and movies. There was also a beanbag in another corner of my room, and lots of throw pillows and blankets on the windowsill that was made for sitting on. Leo's room was painted dark green and he also had the same wall decorations, just different bands. Whenever we hung out, which was all the time, or when we had other friends over, we would always hang out in my room. I always made a point of keeping it clean, since I was so grateful for the opportunity I had to live here with Leo and Irmelin and have my own room.
Leo was on a show last year called Growing Pains, and he played a character that they had added to the show for the last season. I went to set with him as much as I could, but it was hard with both of us going to school. He was an amazing actor and I could tell that he loved doing it. While we were at the audition, we ran into this kid we had seen at other auditions before and finally decided to talk to him. He seemed cool and we all got along great. His name is Tobey, and he also lives in LA. He'll come over for dinner sometimes and play Mario Kart afterward.
We were sitting at the dinner table when the phone rang, Leo jumping up from his seat to answer it. He had just auditioned for a role in a new movie with Robert DeNiro, who was his favorite actor.
"So? Who called?" Irmelin asked as soon as Leo returned to the table.
"I got the job." He spoke in a monotone voice, unsure of how to process it.
"Really! Leo, that's amazing!" I congratulated him, but he just sat down, no expression on his face.
"I can't believe it. I messed up so bad at auditions, everyone laughed at me. I didn't think I was going to get it. I'm going to work with Robert DeNiro. I, I don't-"
"Leo, it's going to be okay." Irmelin spoke softly.
"I'm really proud of you." I told him as I placed my hand on top of his.
"I just don't want to go away for that long." He looked at me disappointingly, his usual smile no where to be found.
"What do you mean?" I asked as I pulled my hand away.
"They are filming in Washington. For three months. I can't miss that much school..." Leo's voice faded away as I felt my heartrate and my breathing speed up. I couldn't bear the thought of being away from Leo for that long. I was sure I couldn't go with him, because I have to go to school. I got trapped inside my own head, unable to breakout from my thoughts as I was unaware of the world around me. It was our senior year and we were going to graduate next month, but Leo wouldn't be there.
"(y/n)?" I heard someone calling my name, but I wasn't sure who it was. My vision was clouded and I couldn't see anything around me. I felt like I was spinning, and it was making me so nauseas that I was sure I would throw up.
"Hey." I was finally ripped out of that state when Leo grabbed both of my hands, kneeling beside me at the table. My eyes were flooded with tears, but I didn't want Leo to know how upset I was. Of course I was unbelievably happy for him, because I knew how much he wanted to work with DeNiro since he had looked up to him his entire life. "(y/n)? Hey, you're okay. It's just me." He whispered as my heart was beating out of my chest and I couldn't steady my breathing.
