Revan’s P.O.V

“Wakey Wakey birthday girl” my father said smiling. I yawned and opened my eyes slowly. It was very rare my father woke me up, so it was a nice surprise especially with it being my birthday and all. “Morning” I said groggily. He laughed and ruffled my messy hair. “Eighteen already huh” he said softly. He looked saddened and I wondered why. “What’s wrong?” I asked him softly. He just smiled. “Nothing princess. You’re just not a little girl anymore” he muttered sadly. “I’ll always be your little girl daddy” I said sweetly while smiling at him. “I know princess” he said ruffling my hair again. I battered his hand away and he just laughed most likely at the expression on my face. “Your mother is making you something special for breakfast” he said softly. Wow it really was a special occasion if my mother was cooking. My mother never cooked unless she really had to. I felt honoured. The scent of bacon and pancakes drifted towards the door and my stomach rumbled. “Wow someone’s hungry” my mother said as she walked in the door. I smiled. My mother was a short woman, about 5ft 2”. Her hair was short to her chin and a chocolate brown colour. Her eyes were a chocolate brown too. Her cheekbones were prominent and her skin was a milky colour. She was nice and curvy. To be honest my mother was beautiful. “I don’t know what you mean mummy” I said sweetly. She laughed. “Of course you don’t sweetie. Happy birthday!” she said setting a plate of bacon and pancakes with golden syrup in front of me. I licked my lips as my mouth watered in anticipation. It looked amazing. “Thanks!” I said digging in happily. “Erm honey. You…you have something on your face?” my father said. “Where?” I asked round a mouthful of food. Man it tasted like heaven in my mouth. “Everywhere!” he said dramatically. “You’re fired!” I said giggling with him as I wiped my chin where the syrup had escaped. “How does it feel to be eighteen then?” my mother asked. “Old” I said and she laughed. “You don’t know what old is. Trying being our age.” she said and I laughed. “That’s not old. That’s ancient!” I said before finishing the last crumbs on my plate and wiping my mouth clean and sighing in contentment. That really hit the spot and totally killed my hunger. “Oi. Watch your mouth! You’re not too old for a smacked bottom!” my mother teased and I laughed. “Sorry mummy” I said sweetly. “good girl” she said ruffling my hair. “Hey guys! I ain’t a dog!” I exclaimed. “Well…” my mother said grinning causing my father to laugh. I just glared at them. “I can’t take this abuse! And on my birthday too!” I said pouting. This caused my father to laugh more. “Oh sweetie. Bless you. Where did I leave my violins?” he said looking around. I swiped him one. “You’re funny!” I said sarcastically. “I know. I thought so” he said grinning. Sometimes he was more of a child than I was! I just shook my head and went to get up. “Wait! You haven’t opened your present yet!” my mother exclaimed. I just rolled my eyes. I’d told them not to bother with presents this year. Apparently they hadn’t listened. My mother pulled out a smallish package wrapped in shiny purple paper with a silver bow on. I looked at it then at them. They were grinning in anticipation. Taking the present of my mother, I opened it cautiously, curious as to what they had gotten me. Unwrapping the box I gasped. The necklace inside was amazing. It was a purple Swarovski crystal half moon with a wolf underneath looking like it was howling to the moon. I stroked my hand over it softly. It was so beautiful. Tears began to well up in my eyes. “Its beautiful…thank you so much” I choked through the tears that were falling down my face. It was such a beautiful and thoughtful gift. “Oh honey. Don’t cry. Were glad you love it. We weren’t sure you would” my mother said softly. I smiled wiping away the tears. “I’m never taking it off!” I exclaimed as my mother helped me to put it on. It fell perfectly on my neck and nestled just before my breasts. I smiled before hugging my parents tight. “Thank you” I whispered. “Now scoot. You know Bonnie won’t appreciate waiting around for you. And she’s been waiting already for the last ten minutes. it’s a good job I left her with some pancakes” my mother said laughing. I laughed before heading to the closet to get dressed while my parents left.
