Lily’s P.O.V
I finally managed to open my eyes slowly. The harsh light in my eyes had me groaning and closing them instantly. ‘Who put the bright light there’ I thought irritably. I mean seriously. Were they trying to blind me. “Lily?” someone said softly and a little unsure. ‘I wonder what’s freaking them’ I thought. “Lily? Is that you? Have you come back to us?” the voice said again a little stronger this time. ‘What did they mean come back to them? I haven’t been anywhere. Though with the pain that’s now going through my body I kind of wish I had’ I thought as I tried to ignore the throbbing pain in my neck. It was impossible though. “Lily?” the voice repeated. “Yes. God. Yes I am here. Please stop repeating yourself!” I said a little harshly. But god was I sick of them saying the same thing. I heard them gasp, but I couldn’t see them. I didn’t dare. That light was way too bright. “Oh Lily it is you! Please open your eyes baby” the voice which I know recognised as my mother said softly and I just shook my head. “I can’t. Too bright” I said crookedly. Suddenly aware how dry my throat was. “Oh it’s okay honey. I have moved the light now. That should be okay” my mother said softly. I nodded and opened my eyes again slowly, afraid the light would still burn my eyes. When the light didn’t reappear I let out a sigh of relief and opened my eyes completely.
Looking at my mother she looked so afraid. Her skin was pale and her eyes had bags under from obvious lack of sleep. Her hair was a mess and pulled into a bun sloppily. “You look like hell” I said smiling. “You don’t look so hot yourself” she said laughing and I looked down. I was shocked to see tubes in my arms. “Where am I?” I asked before looking around for a drink to cure my dry throat. “Here” my mother said passing me a glass of water. I drained it and sighed. That was better. I guess. Though my throat still felt like I had razorblades down it. That and my neck was killing me. I winced slightly when I touched my neck. “Do you want me to get someone to give you more medication for the pain sweetheart?” my mother asked, worry appearing on her face. I nodded. I wasn’t sure why I was in pain and therefore required pain medication, but I wasn’t going to turn down medication if it would make this excruciating pain die down. “Ok. I will just go get the doctor” my mother said simply before she slipped out of my room. ‘Doctor?’ I thought as I looked around the room. Nope I was definitely in my own bedroom and not a hospital. Then again I did have what looked like an I.V drip in my arm. ‘What’s all that about?’ I thought curiously.
Before I had time to think about it my mother walked back into the room with a middle aged women in tow. The woman had dark brown hair that was tied up into a ponytail and strands framed her heart shaped pale face where they’d escaped from the bobble that held her ponytail in place. Her outfit was a simple pair of jeans and a white vest. The only thing that gave her away as a doctor was the stethoscope around her neck. “Hello Lily. Good to see you back with us” the doctor said smiling as she approached, needle in hand. I winced. Oh hell no! she was not putting that thing in my skin. I hated needles! “Oh don’t worry. I will administer this into your drip” she said smiling. Clearly she’d seen the terror on my face, though it wouldn’t have been hard to miss to be fair.
“Do you remember anything?” she asked as she shined a light in my eyes and I hissed. “Okay so you’re a little sensitive to bright lights at the moment. That should die down in the next hour or so.” she said simply. Meanwhile I was still pondering over her previous question. “remember anything about what?” I asked confused by what she meant. The last thing I remembered was trying to get ready for Bonnie’s surprise birthday…That’s when it hit me. The memories came flooding back and I grabbed my head in pain with the force of them. Images flooded my mind of that night. Of Revan. Then Revan in wolf form. Then our death dance. Then her jaws around my throat. Then the blood. Oh the blood. And the pain. Then no pain. No blood. Just darkness. I shuddered. ‘Well that explains the pain in my neck’ I thought solemnly. “Lily?” The doctor said and I looked up. “Yes. I remember” I said simply still a little shaken. “Well that’s good as it means there is no memory loss.” the doctor said happily though I didn’t see the happy side to it. I think I would of preferred to have not remembered. Now the memories were torturing my mind. “Well you seem in fine condition considering. You wolf has done a good job at healing you. You should be free to go in the next few hours” the doctor said smiling. I nodded. ‘guess I owe you thanks then Callie’ I thought to my wolf. ‘Don’t be silly Lily. It was my pleasure. I would not allow that bitch to kill us’ she said simply and I shuddered. It was clear from her tone that she hated Revan. Then again Revan did attack us and nearly kill us. Had Callie not healed us, we probably wouldn’t be alive right now. ‘Don’t dwell on that Lily. We are alive. Let’s move forward from this’ Callie said simply and I nodded. She was right we had to move forward. We couldn’t let the attack hold us back. “Thanks doc” I said simply and she smiled. “My pleasure Lily. Now it looks like you have some eager visitors. I shall send them in” she said before she walked out the room with my mother. I smiled. I couldn’t help but wonder who was waiting to come in here. I only hoped it was people I actually wanted to see.
