Bonnie’s P.O.V
Beep. Beep. Beep. The infernal beeping just wouldn’t quit. I sit up in bed and stretch trying to sleepily locate the source of that god forsaken noise. Finding my alarm clock and slamming my hand down on it to silence the damn thing I yawn. It was Friday. This was a good thing because it meant it was a day away from the weekend and I could laze in bed. Oh and today…yeah today was also my eighteenth birthday. Strangely though I was anything but excited. Shrugging the covers off, I stand up and stretch before padding off to get a shower. Deciding that a hot shower in the morning was the best way to endure a day. Stepping into the shower’s hot spray I sighed as my body began to un-knot itself. I quickly washed myself not wanting to gain a lecture on today of all days for running late.
As I stepped out and headed to my closet I couldn’t help but wonder why I seemed so lost in a strange funk. I guess it was linked to hardly seeing Revan still. Every time I’d tried to see her since our run in the rain days earlier she’d already have plans with Ace. It was frustrating. Deciding not to dwell on such thoughts I headed to throw on some clothes. I decided on a pair of dark blue skinnies and a white cami vest. Over this I threw on a bright blue hoody. I scraped my hair into a messy bun. Sighing I looked at my reflection. I really wasn’t pretty. My mate was going to regret me when they met me. ‘If they ever did’ I thought miserably. ‘Snap out of it Bonnie. I will not have you moping on the day that could change our lives!’ my coyote snapped. I rolled my eyes. Shaking my head I decided to think of something else. The thought that today would be my last lesson with my photography teacher came to mind. I couldn’t help but groan at this. As old and annoying as she could be. She wasn’t half bad. Oh my god! What was I saying! ‘What is this becoming eighteen thing doing to me!’ I thought as I grabbed my backpack. I was in serious need of doing something wild, to get me back to myself. The only problem was my partner in crime was never available these days. I sighed. Damn her. Damn her to hell!
I was grumbling to myself as I headed to the stairs when I was suddenly dived on. I screamed and all I heard in response was a girly laugh. I looked down to find an Ava. “Ava!” I screamed. “What are you doing?” I asked her. She was always attached to mother’s hip. So it was odd that she was bugging me. “I’m arresting the birthday girl. She has to go to jail for crimes against eating breakfast” Ava responded in glee, giggling and grabbing my wrists putting them behind my back. I was so confused right now. I was being arrested by my six year old sister. How bizarre is that? “Happy birthday Bonnie” she said as an after thought as she tugged on my wrists so I would follow her. I couldn’t help but to give into her. More out of curiosity to see why she was behaving so weird. It wasn’t like Ava. That and I was just a naturally curious person. Yeah yeah I know curiosity killed the cat and all that…but hey I can’t help it! Ava grinned at me all the way down the stairs and into the kitchen. “Morning Bonnie. Happy birthday baby girl” my mother greeted me. Smiling and enveloping me in a hug. I smiled but confusion was apparent on my face. It was rare I saw my mother. She was either with my father helping with pack issues or dealing with the children. Speaking of my father. He chose that moment to walk in smiling. He grinned at me. “Morning. How is the birthday girl?” he asked cheerfully. “Miserable” I muttered stepping away from my mother who was now frowning at me. “Why is that sweetie?” my mother asked and I didn’t say anything. I was hardly going to whine that I missed Revan. “Bonnie?” my father asked questionably. “Nothing. Forget it” I muttered. “Here eat.” my mother said placing a plate of eggs and bacon in front of me. They smelled delicious. You wouldn’t see me saying no! I dug in after thanking my mother. “Well you best head of to school Bonnie. Your birthday isn’t an excuse for tardiness” my mother said and I rolled my eyes. Like I didn’t already know that!
