*Third Person's POV*"Take care of yourself over there, Baby." Mrs. Brüschweiler told her daughter, hugging the girl tightly. She was starting to get emotional, and the whole scene was going to be overwhelming, so Marco Brüschweiler had to step in.
"Come on, Honey. She's going there to study. We should be proud of her." He assured his wife as he patted his daughter's head. The said girl smiled warmly at her father.
"Yo, Lis. Don't worry about there, okay? I have set everything up, and I will join you once I am done here." BamBam, her friend assured.
"Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please? Malaysia Airlines Flight MH-789 for Kuala Lumpur is now boarding at gate G-3. Boarding is for business class and special passengers at this time..." The announcement echoed on the airport floor.
"Baby, don't forget to check the boarding gate to Incheon once you land in Kuala Lumpur." Marco reminded her, knowing his daughter.
"Yes, Dad. I got it."
"Call us as soon as you get there." Her Mom warned, and the girl nodded.
Her eyes were teary as she bid goodbye to her parents and best friend. She wanted to spend some more time with them, but she had a flight to catch, and a new world was waiting.
It was a cold winter day when Lalisa Manoban landed at Incheon Airport, South Korea. Her body, not adjusting to the sudden cold environment that surrounded her. She was freezing, but her heart felt warm. Of course, she was already missing her family and friends back in Thailand, but it had been her dream to come to South Korea for a while.
She catched a cab to Seoul. She had a very long flight, yet her heart was pounding with excitement. She couldn't wait to see her apartment where she would be living for the next three years — alone. Since she was an only child, her parents always saw her as a kid. Not that they were strict or she lacked freedom, Lisa just always wanted to be independent and self-reliant, and this was a first step.
Her apartment was a normal, classic, and pretty decent one on the seventh floor of a ten-story building. She was already starting to love the neighborhood. It had multiple apartments in the same vicinity, a garden, a playground, and even a pond. Thanks to BamBam and her parent's connection, she only had one suitcase with her as luggage. The rest of the apartment was rather furnished — she just had to do a little shopping.
The first thing Lisa did after reaching her apartment was to call her parents. Her voice even cracked a little when she heard them. Her mother, too, almost cried, but Marco sounded excited. Though he missed his daughter very much, he was happy for his little girl's future. After the call, she plopped herself on the couch, and she was instantly relaxed. However, a growl from her stomach refrained her from relaxing. She wasn't quite fond of the food they served on the flight, so she was starving. That's when she realized an existential crisis. She was going to have to depend on the canteen food, take-outs, and instant noodles so much because let's face the facts, Lisa Manoban can't cook.
After minutes of contemplation, she decided to eat out and go grocery shopping. It was still morning, and she had plenty of time. She ate breakfast in a nearby restaurant and roamed around the area for a while so that she could get familiar before going back home. She bought instant noodles, snacks, beers, ice cream, and such. In short, things that she won't have to cook.
As she approached the elevator, she realized the doors were about to close.
"Please hold on." She called. Luckily, whoever was inside the elevator heard it and held the door for her.
Lisa quickly got in and bowed to show gratitude. "Thank you!" She raised her face to look at the other person in the elevator, and time stopped for her.
