Chapter 24 - Return

*Third Person's POV*

Jennie's glossy orbs met Lisa's doe-eyes. She was frozen at the moment. She couldn't believe that the person she had waited for all these years was finally standing in front of her.

On the other hand, Lisa was nervous. She had no idea how Jennie was going to react. She didn't mean to startle the girl suddenly, but it just happened.

Both of them stood up, but the moment was too awkward. Their hearts beat at an inhuman speed. They didn't speak. Lisa held the book in her hand to Jennie and motioned towards it. Jennie's eyes never left Lisa's, so she was taken aback by her movements.

"Oh, sorry," Jennie whispered as she took the book back from the tall girl.

Lisa couldn't help but internally giggle at Jennie's shocked face.

"How have you been?" She finally asked in a shallow tone.

Jennie nodded, looking away from her. A tear rolled down her cheeks. Lisa's heart dropped. She wanted to reach out and wipe it, but a voice interrupted them.

"Ms. Kim, the Dean is looking for you." Someone shouted from the other end of the hallway, making the girls flinch.

"Coming," Jennie shouted back and looked at Lisa, wiping her tears.

"Please go ahead," Lisa whispered and moved to the side. Jennie wanted to stay, but she was scared of what Lisa was going to say.

You can't blame Lisa if she had really moved on from Jennie after all these years, but that doesn't mean it'd hurt Jennie any less.

Jennie slowly nodded and walked away. But when she turned around after a few steps, Lisa was gone. For a moment, she thought she was just imagining things. But the familiar scent of Lisa lingering in the air told her otherwise.

Lisa roamed around the campus, making small conversations with some people as CEO Manoban. She was looking for her friends, but her mind was occupied.

"Lis!" She heard the golden voice of her tall friend.

Rosè rushed and hugged her friend tightly. "You are finally back." She said, sniffling. Well, our Rosè never changes.

"Oh, the chipmunk is crying!" Taehyung said as she approached them. Rosè pulled out of the hug and smacked Lisa's shoulder.

"What was that for?" Lisa asked, wincing.

"For not coming to Korea earlier."

"That... ah, that–" Lisa was about to say something, but Jisoo interrupted.

"But you are here now." She said and hugged the Thai girl, and everyone followed.

"Ooooo, the hot CEO is here, Man," Jungkook commented.

"You look great, Lisa. I am so happy." Taehyung added. Everyone was a bit teared up.

All of them hugged except Tzuyu. Lisa looked over to the tall girl to find her fidgeting.

"Tzuyu..." She called, opening her arms.

She looked into Lisa's eyes, still feeling guilty.

"Lisa, I–"

"It's okay. I know. Let the bygones be bygones." She assured, smiling.

The tall girl wasted no time falling into Lisa's arms, feeling finally content.

They were all busy catching up that none of them noticed a cat-eyed woman watching them. Her heart filled with happiness as she watched Lisa rekindle with her friends. While their relationship was on a question mark, she couldn't help but feel happy.
