Chapter 27

When I woke up the next morning, Skylynn was softly tapping me. "Shhhh, " she said and pointed to Hayes. I slowly got out of bed and followed Sky into the kitchen where everyone was. "Good morning Sarah" Elizabeth made me a coffee. "Good morning Liz. Thank you" we smiled and I took a sip. "Okay, so I was thinking since it's Hayes's birthday, we'd just surprise him with breakfast in bed, and he can decide what he wants to do." Elizabeth said.
I may have, sorta, kinda forgot it was his birthday. But atleast I have my gifts for him. "Ouuu! Maybe we can go go-carting! " Nash said. "Or we can spend the day on the lake and do water activities." Will said.
"Or go play with the horses!" Skylynn said. "Kids, it's his choice. We will have to find out ourselves what he wants." Liz was right.
"He'll probably go on the tracks and go dirt biking." I said. It's probably true. He loves his dirt bike. Everyone nodded and agreed. "So, sarah, you can bring Hayes his breakfast, and when he comes down after he eats, we'll just have balloons and things and surprise him with his gifts!" Liz passed me the tray. I brought it upstairs. I slowly say on his bed. I sat the tray on the nightstand. I gave him a soft kiss, which woke him up. "Good morning beautiful." He said and kissed my cheek. "Good morning birthday boy." I passed him his breakfast. "Mm. Smells good." He took a bite out of his chocolate chip pancake. "Tastes good too. Thanks babe" he kept eating. "Yeah, well you can thank your mom when you head downstairs. " he smiled.

We went downstairs, and nobody was in the living room. Like they all just left or disappeared. Hayes went into the kitchen to bring his plate and other dishes and put them in the sink.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" I heard everyone scream from the kitchen. You know they're cool when they inhale helium the yell happy birthday. And oh my gosh, was Skylynn's voice every high and squeaky. I came into the kitchen and I see Hayes hugging everyone. "Thank you" Hayes tell each of them.
*ding dong* the doorbell rang.
"Sarah, would you mind getting that?" Liz said with a smile on her face, like usual. "Yeah sure." I headed towards the door. I opened the door, and saw an older man, about middle age with a girl maybe a bit younger then him by his side. "Hello, is Hayes here?" He said in a deep voice and had a smile upon his face. Before I could answer, Nash came to the door. "Dad!" And he jumped right into his arms. "Hey son. I've missed you!" He hugged him and tapped his back. "I've missed you to."
"Now where's that crazy old birthday boy?" He walks in with his wife I'm assuming. I walked into the kitchen to see Liz. "I believe your ex husband is here." She looked at me shocked.
"Dad!!!" Hayes ran up to him and gave him a big hug, while Nash was hugging his .... Stepmom? "Happy birthday boy." He handed Hayes his gift. It was a little tiny box. He opened it to find keys. "Um, dad. I'm not 16 yet. " Hayes was confused. I think we all were. "Come on outside with me. " we all walked outside, and there was something in the driveway. We didn't know what it was yet, cause the tarp was still on it. "Go ahead, take the tarp off." His wife said. Hayes goes and pulls the tarp off, and reveals what it is . "No, frickin way. A new dirt bike!" It was red and blue and had the number 7 on it. And it goes great with my gift I got him. "Thanks guys. I love it." He hugs both of them. "Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go try it out!" His stepmom said. Everyone went into the house and got ready, except for me and Elizabeth. "Excuse me, Sarah, right?" Hayes's dad said on our way in. "Yup, that's me" I smiled. He introduced himself and his wife. "I'm Chad, and this is my wife Nila." I shook both of there hands. "It's nice to meet you." We all smiled.
Hayes came down the stairs.
"Wait! Hayes! I need to give you my gift first! " I pulled him to the couch so he could sit down. I brought him a big gift bag. He smiled and kissed me on the cheek before opening it.
He opened it and saw a blue and red dirt biking suit. It was literally perfect with his bike. "Oh my god, Sarah. Thank you so much! This must have costed you a lot! "
"It doesn't matter. And could never mean as much to me as much as you." He smiled and gently kissed me on the lips. Everyone 'awe'd'. "Okay,
Now go. Have fun." He smiled and we hugged eachother. "Wait, I want pictures. You two first." Liz said while holding up a camera. Hayes and I got side by side and smiled for the camera. "Cheese!" She said and we smiled. Hayes then took pictures with his dad and stepmom, his brothers and Skylynn. His stepdad and mom with his brothers and Sky.

After the pictures they all went to the dirt pit. It was only noon and I was tired. I went into Hayes's room, and fell asleep.

I know it's been a while that I haven't wrote a chapter, but I just can't really keep up anymore. I don't get
Many reads and feel useless when it comes to this book. Maybe I'll feel confident again sometime but I'm not sure right now.
