A week flew by since their last conversation about his dating life.
Namjoon was getting ready for his office when he noticed the lunch box he packed for Minji was still on the dining table. It was a pretty big deal.
Growing up having only her father to fulfill every food requests for her and him working his hardest to satisfy his daughter, Minji didn't particularly like anything except her dad's cooking (maybe except the pudding Sunoo's mother made, the pizza from their nearest Italian restaurant, and some store-bought snacks). Also, her fast metabolism and superhuman abilities demanded large amounts of food. Now, Namjoon knew she should be able to eat anything at her workplace, afterall her boss was paying. But having her eat mere snacks for lunch was unsettling and before he knew, he was off in the cab towards the Avengers' Tower with her lunch box.
He never actually went there and didn't even know if he was allowed to enter but he convinced himself that it was the confidence that really mattered.
After almost 15 minutes he reached his destination. Paying the cab driver, he took off towards the tower in his office clothes and a Winnie the Pooh lunch bag slung on his arm. As soon as he reached the entrance the entrance, he was stopped.
"Excuse me, sir, do you have an appointment or a card?" Of course, it was expected. Namjoon didn't miss the way the woman checked him out and hoped that would be enough to let him go inside. Apparently, it was too much to ask from the universe.
"Actually no, I'm just here to give my daughter her lunch bag."
"Daughter?" The lady looked at the lunch bag and smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry, sir but you can't go in. Although, we do have a snacks bar inside, I'm sure she can find something there."
"No, you don't understand. My daughter is actually picky with her food so... if you can just call her downstairs, I'll give it to her! She's an intern here; Kim Minji." Namjoon knows that everyone except him, the Avengers and her bestfriend know her as an intern in the Avengers Tower.
"I'm really sorry, sir—"
"What's going on?"
Namjoon turned to the voice of a man who was dressed up well and immediately checked his name tag– Sejin– and remembered his daughter talking about him.
"Mr. Sejin! I'm Kim Minji's father and she'd left her lunch box at home. I'm just here to deliver it. It would be great if you—"
"Wait, hold on." The man looked around and pulled Namjoon along with him towards the elevator where there was considerably less people. Namjoon was confused but followed along.
"Mr. Kim, you know they're going out on a mission, right? You shouldn't be here, right now. They'll be leaving in 2 hou—"
"Mission?" Sejin's face contorted to confusion then realization. "Mr. Sejin, what mission?"
"You don't know?"
"How will I— she's here for an important meeting!"
"Mr. Kim, the Avengers are going for a mission abroad!" Namjoon's head reeled. They were all going for a mission and Minji didn't even tell him? What the fuck?! "More specifically, Germany, for a week."
"H-How?"
"You should've known well when you signed the approval."
"What approval? I didn't sign any! What is going on?!"
Sejin gasped almost inaudibly and asked Namjoon to follow him quickly. As they were going up, Namjoon could feel his nerves go astray– his felt his face pale and his hands starting shaking almost unnoticeably. He needed something to ground himself it felt so overwhelming. When they finally reached the floor, Namjoon stormed out of the elevator to see some superheros and numerous agents moving around. A few even stopped to look at him in confusion but Namjoon didn't really care. Just then, he saw his daughter in a white suit, with the mask of her suit on her hand.
