"It doesn't matter if I'm late."
A voice came from behind.
They all turned to see Eden struting towards them, pressing the lock button on her car's smart key.
She took the empty seat left and looked to Emma.
"The only thing that matters is that I'm here. Isn't that right, Charity Case?" She dropped her bag on the table.
Slowly scanning Emma in a surprised manner, Eden shook her head.
"That's what you're wearing?" She was clearly irritated.
"I mean, was the thrift shop all out of early supplies?"
Emma scoffed, brought out her laptop, and rested it on the table.
"Eden." Oliver hissed.
"Just saying. I mean, what a waste of my mum's design. Even though that's so last year."
Throughout the session, Emma, Ryan, and Oliver shared their ideas and conversed a lot about the project while Eden played on her phone the entire time.
When she was tired of that, she took what seemed like a thousand selfies.
Time passed. It was a bit past noon, so to wrap it all up, Emma assigned the last parts needed to be done to everyone except Eden.
Closing her laptop, she heaved a heavy sign of relief.
"That's all for now. I'll see you guys later."
Standing up to go, she walked a short distance, and then she heard her name and paused.
"So what's my part, Charity Case. I guess your head just didn't remember there are four of us on this project. " Eden asked in the middle of taking another selfie.
"Nothing. There's nothing left for you to do so you can go ahead with whatever you were already doing."
"What did you say?" Eden's curt annoyance cut clear while putting her phone down.
"Then find something, Charity Case."
"Find something. Ok." Emma whispered, then chuckled and looked to Eden.
"Well then. Grace. How about you find out what inspires privileged young ladies such as yourself to- Well, how can I put this. Be like you."
"What?"
"Find out why the rich, famous, and privileged like you turn out to be spoilt, rotten brats."
"Fine!"
Eden replied pissed off, angrily gripping her phone and walking to her car, driving away speedily.
Immediately, Eden left, Emma sighed.
"This is my life now."
"Emma."
Someone called her name from behind.
"Do you want to stay a while. I mean, let's not let a good afternoon go to waste."
"Okay, Ryan."
She walked back to the table with Ryan, where Oliver was still seated and on his phone.
When she returned, he rested it on the table while Ryan went to get them drinks.
"You shouldn't take what she says or does to heart Emma." Oliver gently placed his hand on hers.
"She acts like that, but deep down, he is a really nice person."
"Obviously very deep down. Maybe the abyss type shit." Emma added in a whisper.
