Throughout the course of the week, the group met a couple of times to put the finishing touches on the project.
Emma was taken aback to see Eden actually putting in some effort.
Shockingly, she always made time to be present at every group meeting.
Strange. Was she seriously putting effort?
They agreed to fix another study meeting for Friday night at Lit. It was supposedly the best park within the school known for being well illuminated even during the night. Hence the name. The properly trimmed and well cared for flowers only added to it's beauty.
Emma was the first to arrive. Seeing no one else around, she found her way to the nearest bench where she sat and began sketching in her book to pass the time.
After about an hour, she got a text from Ryan and then Oliver. 5hey said the same thing. They would not be able to make it due to work.
Letting out a sigh, she sluggishly stood up, shutting her book and getting her bag.
"Are you the only one here?" A familiar voice suddenly called her attention.
Lifting her head slowly, her eyes landed on the owner of the voice but somethng was different. Eden who normally wore designer only, name-brand items was putting on blue jeans and a black hoodie?
Definitely not her usual look.
Paying attention to her face, she saw a deep frown
"Yh. The guys just called to cancel."
Snapping her book shut, she stuffed it into her bag and stood up.
"See you later then..."
Granted, Eden did put in effort but she was still the same old spoilt brat as before and from the looks of things, she wasn't in the best of mood translating to her being in much more volitile state...
She turned to go but stopped by a heavy sign coming from behind.
Turning slightly, she sighted Eden. Hands in her pocket. Just staring straight at the moon.
It's nothing Em. Let's get going, she can handle her own business.
Tightening her grip on her bag, she began to walk away but found herself walking towards the direction she was leaving and quietly sitting on the bench.
"Rough day?" She looked up to the moon as a calm breeze passed by.
The moon shone bright and brightly illuminated the area.
"It's not something I would expect you to understand Charity Case."
"What is your problem with me anyway Eden? I'm here trying to be concerned about you but you can't have that. Can you? Can't allow yourself to be pitied by the school's Charity Case... You know, you've been on my case literally since the first day you saw me..."
"Well you haven't been so receptive of me either." She cut in.
"What other choice did you leave me."
"Whatever." She rolled her eyes nonchalantly.
"There you go again Grace."
There was a sudden tick on Eden's face as she gaze quickly shifted to Emma.
"What right!?"
"Huh?"
"What gave you the right to call me that. I taken it form you before but not anymore you dirty begger."
She sounded the warning loud and clear.
Emma scoffed before getting to her feet.
"Know what. It's actually my fault. I'm sorry for ever trying to have a decent conversation with you. Here I was thinking, hoping we can finally see eye to eye."
