Chapter 28

I woke up to Ko'lae sitting on my chest and licking my face. She meowed and I looked at the sky, it was still dark but the sun was just barely lighting the sky. She meowed again and went to the window. I followed her and looked out the window. She pawed the window, but it wasn't meant to open, so she gave up on trying to get it open and sat in the window pane looking at me. About half an hour later Daisya and General Tiedoll woke up.

"I think we're close." I said.

"Alright, first we need to eat then we will continue our search." General Tiedoll said. I sighed and followed them to a restaurant. When we got there, we were the only ones and they got their food quickly. They ate in silence and I stared at the wall, holding Ko'lae. When they finished eating we continued our search. Ko'lae sniffed the air again and started running north, closer to an old train depot. A few hours later Ko'lae ran into one of the warehouses and returned with Mimiteh's clothing. "She was here." I said. I took the clothes and folded them.

"We need to keep these, Mimiteh's clothes were changed." General Tiedoll said. I nodded and looked at Ko'lae. She meowed and started running towards the town again. She stopped a few feet away and waited for Daisya, General Tiedoll, and myself to catch up to her.

"They must have taken her all over the town." Daisya said. I knew that much and looked at Ko'lae.

"Ko'lae, can you still find her scent?" I asked. She meowed and ran back into town, I was right behind her. We came to a chapel building and Ko'lae meowed at the building. It was run down, had broken windows, weeds growing everywhere, and the doors were starting to fall off the hinges. There was a smaller window that was broken and I walked over to it. I looked into the room and saw Mimiteh. She was sitting in a chair, her hair was curled around her head, a simple tiara of gold and pure white diamonds was sitting on her head, she was dressed in a simple baby blue gown that didn't have sleeves and the collar of which was quite low on her chest.

"Why is she sitting there?" Daisya asked quietly.

"I don't know." I replied. She started to pull at her hands and her dress slid down her chest. I almost jumped through the window, but General Tiedoll grabbed my shoulder. A boy walked into the room she was in and looked at her. He said something and fixed her dress. Anger boiled in me and I watched as Mimiteh struggled even more. I looked at her hands and saw ropes holding her hands down. The boy left and I saw pentacles all around the building.

"There must be a lot of akuma here." Daisya said. I nodded and watched Mimiteh. She almost succeeded to get her hands free when the boy came back. He had two nails and a hammer as well. He said something and placed one of the nails on her left hand. He swung the hammer and I heard Mimiteh scream. I couldn't handle it anymore, I jumped through the window and unsheathed Mugen.

I stabbed the guy and wasn't surprised when it became an akuma. Within seconds the room was full of akuma and I looked around at each one of them.

I dragged my pointer and middle finger across Mugen and said "Innocence activate."

The akuma laughed and started firing at me. I wasn't going to leave Mimiteh, not even if I died. I could hear her crying in pain and my heart ached. I looked at her and wanted to kill all of the akuma here because of what they did to her. I couldn't fight them all and get Mimiteh out of here at the same time, not when she was in the condition she was in. I saw Diasya's bell and looked for him.

"You worry about Mimiteh, we'll take care of the akuma." General Tiedoll said. He activated Garden of Eden and started fighting beside Daisya. I turned to Mimiteh and looked at her hand.
