CHAPTER 4

MIYUKI POV

I found myself lying on the hospital bed. I glanced around and noticed that Lion Gay was sitting on the edge of the bed, sleeping. I gazed at his innocent and handsome face. Damn! Why am I praising this idiot?

I noticed his hand moving, an indication that he might be waking up, so I pretended to still be asleep. I wasn't sure if I should open my eyes or keep them closed.

I was about to open my eyes when the doctor entered and spoke to Zack.

"Doc, I wanted to check on Miyuki's condition. How is she doing? Why did she pass out?" Zack asked. Is this idiot worried about her? Duhh, as if he cares, after all the tasks he's been assigning me as if I were a housekeeper, working without pay.

"Ms. Miyuki is stable now and ready to be discharged. She has recovered quite well," confirmed the doctor. I slightly opened my left eye but couldn't see or catch a glimpse of Lion Gay's expression as he had his back turned to me.

"That's great news! But, what could have caused her to collapse in the first place?" Zack asked further. As if he's concerned about my health. I opened my eyes a little wider and signaled to the doctor to be quiet. He understood what I meant and continued speaking to Zack.

"It seems like she may have simply fainted due to hunger and fatigue. She hadn't eaten for a while and had exhausted herself. After providing her with proper nourishment and rest, she regained her stability," the doctor explained.

"Thanks, Doc." Wow! This is the first time I've heard Lion Gay say thank you. The doctor left and Zack faced him, so he quickly closed his eyes. After a few seconds, he spoke.

"I hate you for what you did to her," he murmured, but it didn't escape his hearing.

I slowly opened my eyes and came face to face with the dark and brooding Lion Gay. He stood up and was about to leave when I spoke.

"Where are you going?"

He stopped walking, his left hand in his pocket. He didn't turn to face me.

"I'm going home. You can be discharged tomorrow. I've paid all the hospital bills, so you can go home alone. Don't expect me to escort you because that would be a big mistake," he said, then started walking towards the door.

I was left speechless by his actions. I still wasn't used to this.

Bigla kong naalala ang picture na nahawakan ko kahapon. Familiar ang litrato ng dalawang bata pero hindi nya mahagilap kung saan nya ito nakita.

May mga imahe syang nakita na naglalaro ang tatlong bata sa paanan ng tore at lahat ng mga mukha nito ay blangko sa isipan nya.

"Sino ang mga batang yun at bakit hindi ko sila matandaan? Naghahallucination ba ako?"

Kinwelyuhan ni Zack si Dave nang mamataan ito sa Bar. Nanlilisik ang mga mata nito at naka-ambang susuntukin ngunit kalmado lang si Dave habang umiinom ng brandy. Ngumisi ito at saka ibinaba ang baso sa table.

"Do you  fuckin' think I don't know your intention for approaching Miyuki, Mondragon?" Zack said with clenched teeth, not letting go of his grip on Dave's collar.

"Whooah! Did you come all the way here just to tell me that?" Dave grinned devilishly, but Zack remained unfazed. Mas lalo pa nitong hinigpitan ang pagkakasakal kay Dave habang nakasalampak ang isa siya tuhod sa sofa na kinauupuan ni Dave.

"Hindi ako magdadalawang-isip na ihatid ka sa empyerno oras na pinakialamanan mo ang pagmamay-ari ko," Zack threatened Dave, escalating the tension between them. Ngumisi lang si Dave at saka matiim na tumitig kay Zack na halatang hindi natatakot sa banta nito.

"You don't own Yuki. And I will do everything in my power to make her fall in love with me. Let's see how far your threats go once Yuki is in love with me,"paghahamon ni Dave na mas ikinagalit ni Zack kaya inambahan na ito ng malalakas at sunud-sunod na suntok.

Dave winced and spat out blood as he tasted it on his lips. Kaya mas naging alerto siya sa mga sumunod na suntok ni Zack. Hindi rin nagtagal at dumalo na rin ang mga grupo ng kabilang panig na mga gansters. Halos lahat ng mga gamit at bote ay tumitilapon sa ere dahil sa kaguluhang nagaganap sa loob ng bar.

Bawat panig ay ayaw magpatalo. Sumugod si Luke at inambahan ng malakas na sipa ang tauhan ni Dave na akmang sasaksakin sana si Zack. Lumingon si Zack sa lalaking nakahandusay at lumingon ito uli kay Luke at saka tumango senyales na nagkakaintindihan sila sa mata.

Hinanap ng mga mata ni Zack si Dave at hindi nya nailagan ang paparating na suntok nito kaya natamaan siya sa bandang mata kaya halos hindi siya makakita ng maayos. Ilang segundo din siyang pinagsusuntok ni Dave pero maagap niyang nasalo ang huling suntok na tatama sana sa tagiliran nya. Gumanti sya ng mga suntok at nang makahanap ng tyempo tumuntong sya sa sofa at saka tumalon at hinigh kick si Dave dahilan para bumalandra ito sa mga mesa. Zack was about to approach him when they heard the sirens of the police, prompting them to quickly escape. The bar's owner had called the police due to the havoc caused by the gangsters.

"Damn it! Sa oras na magkikita ulit kami ng Sandoval na yun. Hindi lang siya hihingi ng mukha sa aso. I'll make him a coffin to lie in," Dave shouted, visibly seething with anger.

His companions remained silent, fearing that they might become the target of his rage. Lahat ng gamit na makikita nya, isa-isa niyang winaksi at pinagtatapon.

Kinuha ni Dave ang cellphone nya sa office table nya at saka dinial ang numero ng isang babae.

"May ipapagawa ako sa'yo,"utos ni Dave sa kausap nya sa linya.

["Alam mo naman na hindi ako gumagawa ng trabaho nang libre,"] sagot ng babae sa linya.

"Tss. What do you want? Name it!," saad ni Dave na bakas pa rin ang pagka irita sa mukha.

Tumayo si Dave at sininyasan ang mga tauhan na lumabas ng office saka naglakad ito patungo sa window glass. Kita ang buong syudad sa kinatatayuan nya.

["Hahaha! Alam mo naman kung anong kelangan ko diba? Pero gusto ko munang i-save yung wish ko para hindi ko ito pagsisihan sa huli. Malay mo, magamit ko ito para maging weakness mo in the future,"] sagot ng dalaga sa kabilang linya at humalakhak ito na akala mo nanalo sa lotto.

"Damn! I don't care at all. Just do what I'm asking you to do. And make sure that you won't fail in your mission, because if not, I won't hesitate to kill you, do you understand?" Dave threatened.

Nanginig ang buong katawan ng dalaga na nasa linya at tumango ito kahit hindi naman nakikita ng kausap. Alam nya kasi na walang sinasanto si Dave.

"Are you fucking listening to me? Damn it!" sigaw ni Dave sa kausap nito.
Bumalik ito sa swivel chair at hinilot ang sentido.

["Y-Yes, Boss,"] garalgal na sagot nya dahil sa takot na baka tutuhanin ni Dave ang banta nito.

Linggo ngayon kaya uuwi muna ako  sa Mansyon ni Momma. Kahit ilang linggo ko pa lang siyang di nakakausap at di nakakasama. Namimiss ko din pa lang ang Momma ko. Nasanay kasi ako na araw-araw nya akong sinisermunan tuwing umaga bago pumasok sa School. Hindi na ko nagdoorbell dahil gusto kong surpresahin si Momma. Hindi nya kasi alam na uuwi ako.
