Chapter 1

A/N: we will have the characters' POV minsan, this might be a short chapter. intro pa lang naman tayo hehe

Darren's POV

"Kuya Joshua, ang aga aga, andito ka nanaman sa opisina ko." Reklamo ko the moment I saw him na nakahiga sa couch ng office ko. Aba, at naunahan pa nga ako dito.

I rolled my eyes as I walk past by him, at dumerecho ako sa table ko. Inilipag ko ang suitcase ko bago umupo sa swivel chair.

"I will remind my secretary na wag kang papapasukin pag wala ako." Tingin ko muli sakanya. "Wait, on second thought, what if ipa-ban na lang kita sa building?"

"Huy, grabe ka naman!" Napabalikwas sya mula sa pagkakahiga nya, at bahagyang umayos ng upo. "Ipapa-ban talaga?"

Kuya Joshua is a cousin who just got back from.. actually, hindi ko alam. Magugulat na lang kase ako na kung nasaang lupalop na sya ng mundo.

Close naman kami. Just that, ewan ko ba bakit ganito ang taong ito. Hindi ko alam kung seryoso ba sya sa buhay. Partida ha, mas matanda pa sakin ito pero parang ako yung nag-aalaga ng bata dito.

"What do you need ba?" I sighed, still looking at him.

Ang aga-aga, sumasakit nanaman ang ulo ko sakanya.

"Patambay lang ulit." Sagot nya bago muling sumarap ang pagkakasandal nya sa couch.

"Madami akong meetings today." Sagot ko naman.

"Edi aantayin kita."

"Don't you have other friends, Kuya?"

Umiling naman sya agad.

Napabuntong hininga na lang ulit ako. It's not that ayaw ko na andito sya, it's just.. this is a workplace, and I have tons to do.

When Kyle left years ago, binilin nya muna samin ni Daddy ang pangangalaga sa Echarri Technologies. Dad, and I accepted it kasi Dad knows that this company is the legacy of Kyle's father. Dad, and I promised na aalagaan namin to hanggang sa bumalik sya.

But then, it's been 7 years.

Minsan iniisip ko kung babalik pa ba sya, kung babalik pa ba sila.. silang mga umalis. Si Kyle, si Francine, si Seth, and si Andrea. Ang apat na tao na pinaka naapektuhan sa mga nangyari noon.

All communications were cut the moment Kyle stepped on the airport 7years ago. Kaming mga naiwan dito sa Pilipinas, ako, the Legaspi twins, sina KD, and Alexa, na lang ang may communication pa.

Kaibigan namin si Kyle, and we want what's the best for him. If he thinks that cutting us off will help him, then okay lang. Pero minsan, namimiss ko pa din sya. He is my bestfriend after all.

Lumabas na din kami sa magulo, at delikadong mundo na kinabibilangan namin noon. Yung mundo kung saan minsan naming itinaya ang mga buhay namin. Minsan namimiss ko pa din ang humawak ng baril, or makipaglaban. Pero, binitawan na namin yun.

I proceeded with my meetings, at iniwan ko na lang muna si Kuya Joshua dito sa office ko. I told him na umorder ng lunch namin later since lined-up nga ang meetings today.

We listened carefully as the Samsung company representative present to the board. They reached out to us for a partnership with their upcoming new mobile phones this year. Actually, a lot has been proposing for a partnership, pero careful kami ni Dad kung anong company or groups ang pipiliin namin.

The meeting went well, and nakipag-shakehands naman si Dad sa Samsung team before they leave the meeting room.

"Anak, you okay?" Dad asked.

Tumango naman ako bago ayusin ang files na nasa harapan ko. These days has been draining dahil sa work, ang pahinga ko lang ay ang maikling naitutulog ko pag gabi.

Another meeting with a different department is my next schedule. It's for the marketing for the new laptop that we will release in 3 months.

Malayo na narating ng Echarri Technologies, mas naging kilala ito locally, at nakikilala na din internationally. Our next goal is to dominate the technology world internationally. By then, sana nakauwi na si Kyle.

Approved naman saken ang presentation ng Marketing Team, I signed a few papers na they need to proceed with their next steps.

Tumingin ako sa relo ko, and it's almost lunch time. I just hope na sana pagbalik ko sa office ko ay may na-order na si Kuya Joshua na lunch. If wala, I will literally kick him out of this building.

Janella's POV

After some long flight, we finally landed back here in Manila. It's been years nung huli akong nakauwi dito. My family stays in the UK, pero umuuwi kami dito once in a while. 

Our whole business is there, I am the next in line to handle it. But for now, I just want to have fun muna before burying myself with running a huge company.

"Ate Jea, where's the hotel you booked for us to stay?" Kyle asked.

"Ah, Okada." I answered. "It's somewhere in Pasay City."

Paglabas namin sa arrivals, we immediately saw the sign with my name on it. I also requested a service going to the hotel since I still don't trust some taxis here.

I booked the most expensive suite for us, of course I will. I want what's the best habang andito ako since 1-2 months lang ang usapan namin ni Kyle na we will stay here.

Kyle arrived at my doorstep years ago. A bit of a shock for me dahil hindi man lang nya ako natawagan before hand.

Nung dumating sya nun, I saw how broken he is. Kaya naman pinatuloy ko sya sa bahay ko, he is my baby cousin after all.

"Are you going to meet your team?" I asked.

Kita ko na medyo nagulat sya sa tanong ko, pero he composed himself naman agad.

"Im not sure." He sighed. "Would they still want to do anything about me after ko umalis, and hindi magparamdam for years?"

"If they are your real friends like you told me that they are, then, they will." I smiled.

After some traffic, we finally arrived at the hotel. Since medyo late night na, Kyle, and I decided to eat dinner na lang at the buffet that they have it. So far, the food is nice naman. I was hoping for more Filipino cuisine sana, kaso they don't have it.

"What's your plan tomorrow?"

Agad naman napatingin si Kyle saken dahil sa tanong ko.

"Honestly, I really don't know." Sagot nya saken. "It's been so long since the last time na andito ako sa Pinas."

"Where do you think should I start, Ate?"

Ako naman ang natigilan sa tanong nya. With him leaving his behind past to work on with what, and who he is now, san nga ba sya magsisimula ulit? 

Alam ko lahat ng nangyari kay Kyle, starting from the incident that ruined him, up until that last fight he had on that abandoned warehouse. I also know that he is longing for someone.

Yes, Kyle did get better. But the thing that didn't change? That sadness never left his eyes.

Ngumiti na lang ako ng bahagya. "Maybe start reaching out to your friends. Then see what happens from there."

Kyle took a deep breath bago nya kuhain ang phone nya from his pocket. He dialed a number, and I waited to hear who he called.

"Hey, Darren?"
