It was only when he was standing by the door to Savannah's dorm Romeo realized it was very likely Penelope would be there, which would pretty much ruin everything. He knew she would push him away the moment she saw him without giving Savannah a chance to think if she wanted to listen to what he had to say or not. There was also a chance Savannah wasn't even there to begin with. He guessed it was too late, now. He was already there and he wouldn't back down now. He had to speak to her. Even if she didn't have anything to say to him, he had things he wanted to tell her and now was the time to do it.

So, he knocked on the door before opening it slowly. He took a look around and almost sighed in relief. Savannah was there, Penelope wasn't. Now that he thought about it, Savannah did tell him once that Penelope spent very little time in the dorm. However, Romeo had feared she would now smother Savannah to make sure he kept his distance from her. He was just glad his girlfriend was there, and alone.

The lights were off and the only light coming in was from the window. Savannah was lying under the covers of her bed and that broke Romeo's heart. He knew how much she hated staying in, let alone staying in all day. Savannah was a very productive person who hated standing still, so he could only connect her still being in bed in the late afternoon to their fight. It really shook her up a lot and he felt extremely guilty for it. He never meant to distress her like that. That was the whole reason he kept his past hidden from her, even though he now admitted the truth would have to come out sooner or later.

He saw her moving and peeking from under the covers. "What are you doing here?" She asked in a quite husky voice. She didn't sound mad, just tired and not up for a difficult conversation.

Romeo was quick to hurry next to her. "Listen, I know I promised I would give you time and space, and I will, but I just..." He stopped talking. He could now see her face. The makeup blurred on her face, the messy hair, the tired eyes. "Are you... hungover?" Romeo asked, arching an eyebrow. Savannah had gone to a few parties since she started college, but she never got that much hungover from it.

So that was the real reason why she was in bed that time of the day? Because she was partying all night, while he was worrying about their relationship and thinking of ways to fix it? Romeo knew he should be happy he wasn't the reason of her distress after all, but for some very selfish reason he actually felt slightly disappointed. Even if Savannah had the right not to be miserable about the whole situation, a part of him wished she was, because he was, too. He never thought Savannah would go out and party on New Year's Eve after they had such a major fight. It wasn't like her, and he couldn't help but think it was Penelope's doing.

Savannah didn't reply, which was pretty much an answer by itself. It wasn't like she had to explain herself to him. She could go to any parties she wanted to as long as she was careful, and he was the first one to tell her to get out there and have fun. He was just surprised she chose to do so in such a difficult time for their relationship.

He decided to push the thought away and continue doing what he went there to do. "So, I was cleaning my mother's storage room with my dad, and..."

Savannah sat up. "With your dad?" She asked, a mix of surprise and confusion on her face. Romeo mentally sighed at her reaction. She still cared about him.

Romeo nodded. "Yeah... it's kind of a long story." He responded. It was amazing how much happened in just three days. "Anyway... We found... this."
