Savannah had been quite successful in avoiding Penelope for the next week or so. When she wasn't in class, she would study in the library or hang out at the cafeteria or the gardens. She only went to the dorm to sleep, and since Penelope would go out most nights and Savannah always woke up earlier than she did, they would only see the other when they were sleeping.

Of course, this wasn't what Savannah wanted at all. She missed Penelope and she wanted her friend back, and she knew that would never happen unless she actually spoke to her and gave her a sincere apology. However, that was way easier said than done. And it wasn't even a matter of pride – Savannah was way past that already. She simply didn't know how to approach Penelope. She felt too awkward and feared what her reaction would be. So, just like she did about telling Penelope about dating Romeo, she procrastinated on talking to her about not wanting to lose her friendship. It seemed some things never changed... And to think she used to be such a straight-forward, honest and frontal person. When did she change like this?

"Savannah? Savannah! Back to Earth, please?" Daniel woke the girl up from her thoughts. "I assume you and Pen are still on bad terms." He pointed out, knowing the reason Savannah got distracted was the fact her roommate had walked by and completely ignored the two.

They were sitting by the cafeteria having lunch. They had already finished eating, but still had some time until the next class so they were just hanging out. It seemed Daniel was the only person in the city that would still hang out with Savannah. Which was understandable, considering the other people Savannah hanged out with there besides Penelope were Penelope's friends.

The redhead sighed. "Yeah..."

"You know, you really should talk to her. I don't think Pen is the type of person that holds on to grudges for too long." Daniel advised.

Savannah nodded. "I know, I know. I'm just... giving her time to cool off." She said, which was a half-truth. The whole truth was that she was terrified to start any kind of conversation with the girl.

"You can't keep avoiding her forever... She's your roommate, you know?" Her friend insisted.

"I don't have to avoid her forever, just until the end of the semester so she can ask for another roommate for the next year." Savannah blurted out.

Daniel raised an eyebrow. "What about Romeo? Are you planning on avoiding him forever too?"

Savannah shrugged. "I don't really have to avoid Romeo because our paths never cross anyway."

Her friend rolled his eyes. "Come on, Savannah. Don't isolate yourself. You were doing so great. What about your mom's journal and all the adventures? You can't live them on your own. Everything's a lot more fun if you're surrounded by people you love and who love you back."

The country girl groaned. "Don't get me started on my mom's journal." She complained. She couldn't help but slightly blame the whole thing on the damn journal and how it made her feel like she should take some time away from Romeo. Because that was where it all started, right? And for what, really? She had a lot of fun, sure, but right now didn't feel fun at all. She should have done things differently, but there was no use in thinking about that now.
