I push the feeling away and ultimately concentrate my gaze on his upper body, which still bears the traces of my lipstick. "You did not remove them?" He smirks and closes the boo...

AMAYAS POV
"Do you like the suit?" My mom asks as we walk up to the front door of Lorelei's house, Rowan's mother.
I ran my hand over the black suit my mother had me wear even though I wanted to go in my pajamas and turn to look at my mom and my two friends holding Rain in their arms. She owns the outfit, and I'm amazed that it fits me well in both sizes. I run my fingers through my tightly styled, high ponytail.
"It's pretty," I say, looking at the watch around my wrist, we're on time.
"What are we doing here though?" Nadia questions as we approach the giant entrance, the house decorated with lights, and cars parked all around the area.
"I need to take care of something," I leave the rest of the information out and walk inside, smiling when Lorelei's eyes meet ours and she looks shocked yet glad we showed up.
"You didn't come because you thought you had to, right? Rowan told me you weren't feeling well," Lorelei sighs as she places her hand against my forehead the same way my mom did too and I chuckle, "I did not want to miss this, I'm doing perfectly fine now."
She nods, relieved before she looks at my mom who is standing behind me. "Amorae." Lorelei says with a straight face before the women burst out in laughter, throwing an arm around one another, "Lorelei." My mom laughs.
"I think I need a drink," Ivy sighs as she takes Rain from Nadia's arms, "Let's look for some treats for you." I hear the blonde woman whisper to the dog before Rain barks as they walk away, making Nadia follow them.
"Rowan's somewhere talking to the people—" Lorelei starts but I shake my head, "I will talk to him later, I'm actually looking for Grace. I forgot that I wanted to ask her something," I lie and my mom narrows her eyes at me before she rolls it off.
"If I'm right she just went upstairs to get a call." When the woman standing next to my mother notifies me, I immediately bow my head in her direction in gratitude. Then, as I go up the stairs and enter one of the rooms with the sole closed door, I gaze around the lit-up space.
My eyes are set on Grace whose back is facing towards me while she stands on the balcony, looking like she just got off the phone.
I chuckle, slowly walking up to her as my heels clack against the marble floor, "You know, sometimes I wonder," She looks back in a way it tells me I startled her when she hears my voice, "what would Lorelei do if she knew her friend liked to touch little boys?"
She opens her mouth and I do not know whether she is shocked or scared. Maybe neither, but she will be soon.
"What are you talking about?" Grace scoffs, turning her body towards me once I reach her. "My IQ is higher than all the people attending this party today, let's drop the act, shall we?"
