AMAYAS POV
I open my mouth but the words do not leave my throat, so Rowan beats me to it. "I already knew that."
"What?" Alex's eyes widen as I can make out the sound of a slight gasp. "Does that mean you helped him at first?" Ivy asks as her eyes fall upon mine, carrying the emotion of betrayal-with which I am all too familiar-on her face.
"On that mission where Rowan got hurt," Ivy mumbles before I hear Nadia speak up too, "Was that you?"
"This isn't making any sense. So you hurt him and took care of him right after? Was it all just a trick then?" Alex questions and yet when they deserve to be angry, they do not look like they are. They exchange glances with one another as though they just want my sincere answers.
"It's not needed to bring up this matter when it's already solved." Rowan sighs, coming up from behind me and pulling my hand in his to reassure me of the situation but the look on our three friends' faces does not satisfy me.
"You knew it already?" When Alex's voice soars an octave higher, I see Rowan roll his eyes and hear how my brother groans as he approaches us and stands directly in front of me and the three friends.
"We've known Rowan since we learned to crawl so who are you to interrogate my sister like it's your business when it's clearly not." Ayumu snaps, also sending a glare toward the girl outside who caused all of this in the first place.
"Ayumu," I mumble, tugging on his arm but he does not listen to me.
"I had my reasons and so did my sister. We might be bad people in your eyes right now but we had enough good reasons to do what we did." He continues as I sigh, realizing that I cannot stop him from saying what's on his mind.
I look at the expression of both three friends, yet they still do not seem angry even when my brother is snapping at them, even not when he tells them, "You either forget about this since Rowan did too or you can go through that door and leave my sister's house."
Ayumu takes a deep breath, his shoulders dropping as Alex's mouth slightly drops open.
"What he said," Rowan adds, probably to tell them that even after everything he would not be on their side if it came to me and Ayumu.
"Well... We obviously don't know the reasons but seeing how Rowan let it slide it's valid." Nadia murmurs and she looks over at Ivy and Alex, nudging the girl next to her as she clears her throat.
"I guess we can let it slide too, right?" Ivy chuckles, looking at Alex, the question seeming to be directed toward him.
"If you say so," He sighs before his eyes land on Eva who is staring at them in disbelief, and I wonder if she thought I would allow her to enter my house too.
