First day of training- Cole

Your POV: 

I woke up to the annoying beeping sound of my alarm. I opened my eyes and looked to see it was only 6:30! Why the hell would someone set an alarm this early in the morning!? I reach over to turn it off when I get interrupted, "Don't you dare think about turning that off and going back to sleep".

I look over at my door to see Cole stood there... eating cake... in cupcake pyjamas. 

(What I'd imagine the pyjamas as 🤣)

I mentally facepalmed at the scene. "And why not?! It's bloody half six in the morning!" I exclaimed.

Cole rolled his eyes and walked into my bedroom and in the direction of my wardrobe. "What are yo-" I stopped to see a gi  hanging inside my wardrobe. "Arghh" I screamed. I got out of bed and ran over to pick it up. It's the coolest thing I've ever seen! 

I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to see Cole covering his ears and wincing. "One", he said, "warn me the next time you're gonna do that, you sound like Jay. And two, hurry up and get ready, training starts in 5".  Cole left and I got changed.

After getting changed, I ran down the stairs, only to trip over my own feet and miss the last couple of steps. I closed my eyes bracing for a hard landing but instead, I feel something soft and comfy. I open my eyes to see I was in Jay's arms.

"Errm... t-thanks J-J-Jay" I stuttered. Damn it! I hate being nervous and stuttering.

"No problem y/n!" Jay said. He put me down and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. I stood looking at the floor and awkwardly dragged my foot across the floorboards. "Soo..?" Jay questioned. I'm guessing he's trying to fill the awkward silence.

"Y/N! GET YOUR ARSE UP HERE NOW!" I took one look at Jay and took off. I completely forgot about training. I rushed up to the training deck and see everyone there, including Jay.

"How... how did you?" I looked at Jay, about to question him but decided to leave it until later since I'm already in trouble for being late. 

"Sorry I'm late, got sidetracked" I said, sneakily glancing at Jay to see him already looking at me.

"You're here now so let's get started. Kai will train you today. Just some simple sparring to try contact your elemental powers" Cole explained. I gave him a firm nod and got into a fighting stance as Kai came in front of me. He looked me up and down with a smirk, "you sure you're ready for me, cupcake?"

I rolled my eyes and went to punch him but he dodged and grabbed my fist, twisting my arm behind my back. "Footwork is sloppy" he complained. He pushed me away and I went to kick him but he grabbed my leg and threw me on the floor. 

"Rythm is completely off" he said while I jumped back on my feet. I kept attacking him only for my attacks to be dodged and critiqued. 

"Sloppy"

"Not focused"

"Unbalanced"

"Not quick enough"

All this talk is starting to make me think of dad. How he thought my 'footwork was sloppy' or my 'rhythm is completely off'. Dad thought I wasn't good enough for anything. I'm not letting my brother and his friends think the same thing!

"ENOUGH!" I yelled and pushed my hands in front of my body, towards Kai. He started to float so I moved my hands higher and in the direction of the sails. 

"WOAH, WOAH! Y/n what are you doing? PUT ME DOWN!" Kai cried. 

"If you insist". I shrugged and set Kai down on a hook right next to the sails.

The boys gathered around me, snickering and congratulating me for using my element. "Y/N, PLEASE LET ME DOWN!" Kai whined.

I covered my eyes to block out the sun and look up at Kai. "It depends, who's idea was it to make me think of my dad? Cause I know for a fact it wouldn't have been Cole's. Or Jay's either" I replied with a smirk. I knew perfectly well that this was Kai's idea, just so I could find my inner fire or something like that bullshit.

I looked at Zane and Lloyd with a questioning look to keep the act going. They both shook their heads which made me turn back to Kai with my eyebrows raised. 

"Fine! I did it! It was my idea!" Kai confessed, "can you put me down now?" I was amused, but not enough.

"What's the magic word" i cooed, thoroughly enjoying this situation.

Kai groaned before answering quietly, "please"

I put my hand over my ear and smirked, "I'm sorry, what was that?" 

"PLEASE!" Kai yelled.

I put my hands in front of me again and brought Kai down only a few centimetres away from the ground before dropping him on his face. I knelt down and whispered in his ear, "next time, I'd suggest not being such an egotistical air head. Unless you want something worse to happen. Okay?" 

I stood up and smiled innocently at the others, knowing they heard what I said. 

"I think he got the message" I said and burst out laughing with everyone.
