When you're depressed/ sad over something - Kai and Nya

(~) when there is a dream/ nightmare

Your POV:

~  "Look bubba, a butterfwy" I said, pointing at a butterfly in the bush. 

"Yeah sis it's pretty. Why don't you see if you can find another one?" Kai encouraged. I went running around the garden, dragging Nya along with me.

"NO! WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?! I CAN'T LEAVE THEM! I- I WON'T!" I heard my mum screaming and crying so I ran inside the house, ignoring the calls from Kai and Nya to go back to them. I saw a middle-aged man pointing a sword at my parents.

"Mummy! Daddy!" I ran over to them and hugged my dad's leg.

"Well, well, well, look who it is. Y/n Smith, what a pleasant surprise" he snarled, seemingly getting closer to me, "maybe I'll just take you instead!"

"NO!" Kai jumped in front of me and therefore got the backlash of the attack, making a cut in his eyebrow. 

"KAI!" Nya shouted and ran over to him, pressing her sleeve against his injury. Our parents knelt down next to Kai and Nya and whispered something in their ears as they looked down at me. 

"We must leave you now children" my dad spoke, "remember to always look out for each other, never shut each other out". In a flash, they were gone and all I heard was screaming ~

"Y/N! Y/N! WAKE UP!". I jolted awake with sweat and tears running down my face as I feel two pairs of arms around me. I came out of the hug and saw Kai and Nya both looking at me with concerned expressions. 

"Are you okay? That looked like a really nasty nightmare" Nya said. 

"Mhm. Yeah, I'm fine" I replied, not meeting their eyes.

Kai looked at me with his eyebrows raised, "You sure you're fine? I mean, you were shouting for mum and dad and-"

"I said I'm fine!" I snapped. Their faces turned to ones of hurt so I made my way out of the room, "I- I'm going to get breakfast before sunrise exercise" I whispered.

The rest of the team was already sat in the kitchen when I walked in, and everyone seemed to stare at me as I walked over to the fridge. "You okay y/n? We heard your scream from the nightmare, but we thought it would be best to let Kai and Nya deal with it" Jay explained.

"I'M FINE! WHY DOES EVERYBODY KEEP ASKING ME THAT!?" I yell and slam the fridge door closed. I run up to the bridge of the Bounty and climb the ladder to the roof. Just sitting here watching the world go by is so peaceful and relaxing, with the breeze blowing through my hair too. 

Truth is, I'm nowhere near fine. Today is 12 years since my parents were taken and Kai got the cut in his eyebrow. That day was all my fault. If I had just stayed outside like Mum and Dad had told me to, Kai wouldn't of got hurt. And, maybe, my parents would still be here. Maybe they would've figured the situation out on their own. It's all my fault. I got in the way.

Kai's POV:

Nya and I went downstairs a couple of minutes after y/n to see everyone but her in the kitchen. All the boys were staring at the floor in complete silence. "Has anyone seen y/n?" I asked.

No reply.

"Well? Where is she? She said she was coming down to the kitchen so why isn't she here?" I asked again.

Lloyd looked up and spoke, "She - she ermm- y/n did come into the kitchen but she left pretty much as soon as she walked in. She looked a bit shaken up so Jay asked her if she was okay then she- ermm ... she kinda yelled saying she was fine then nearly took the door of the fridge". 

He pointed over to the fridge where the door was slightly melted and hanging of its hinges. Great! That means y/n is in a higtened mood because she clearly lost control of her powers. I was about to walk out the room to find y/n, but Nya put a hand on my shoulder to stop me, "maybe it's best if we give her some time to calm down and think. We both know what today is and if we pester her about it even more, it'll just make things way worse than they already are" she advised. 

Zane started putting the dishes away so I decided to help him to take my mind of things. "If you don't mind me asking, brother, what is the reason today has gotten y/n in such a state?" he wondered.

"T- today is ermm.. 12 years since the incident with our parents" I mumbled.

"Oh, I am sorry to hear that, my friend".

"It's fine Zane, really. I just wish y/n would open up to me and Nya more about the situation so we can be there for her" I replied.

"I think y/n just needs some time to process everything on her own for a while, considering how she is older now and can understa-"

THUD!

"What the hell was that!?" Cole exclaimed. I look at Nya and she nods. That sounded like it came from the roof, and that's exactly where y/n's secret hideout is. She thinks no one knows about it but Nya and I have seen her climbing up there a few times.

"Kai and I will go check it out. It's probably just another bird flying into the lookout again" Nya says. We run up to the bridge and what we find is definately not what I was expecting.

Y/n was trying to steady herself as she stood up on the roof, the wind getting heavier as she did so, and nearly blowing her straight of the top. "Y/N WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! GET DOWN FROM THERE!" Nya shouted. 

Y/n clocked us and decided to start moving closer to the edge. SHIT! She better not be doing what I think she is. "Y/N, LISTEN TO ME! DON'T DO THIS! PLEASE? JUST COME DOWN HERE AND TALK TO US!" Nya begged.

I ran up the ladder and grabbed y/n around the waist,  just as she was about to jump, and took her down into the med bay, carrying her over my shoulder. "LET. ME. GO!" she screamed and punched my back to try make me loosen the grip I had on, her but nothing was going to make me let her go. Not after what she just tried to do.

Her screams caught the attention of the others and they came into the med bay to see me trying to pin y/n onto the bed.

"Kai? What's going on?" Cole asked.

"LET GO OF ME! KAI LET ME FUCKING GO!" Y/n shouted. She started flailing her arms and legs, making the job harder for me.

"Help. Me" I strained, looking at Lloyd and Cole. They both rushed over and helped me in pinning y/n to the bed so that she couldn't go anywhere.

"Y/n, please, calm down, we're trying to help you" Nya cried, Jay doing his best to comfort her.

"I DON'T NEED HELP! I NEED TO DO WHAT I WAS ABOUT TO!" She retorted. Oh, hell no!

"Y/N LOOK AT ME! LOOK. AT. ME!", she turned her head and looked at me in anger, "you need to calm down, or you're going to lose control of your element. You do that, and this room goes up faster than a tinder box. Everyone in here, including yourself, will get injured, alright? Do you hear me? Calm. Down."

Her breathing got less ragged and she stopped resisting against us. "There you go" Lloyd soothed, "you're doing great y/n/n".

"I'm sorry" she whispered, looking at me with tear-filled eyes. 

"Hey, hey, don't be sorry. You're okay, you're safe. None of this is your fault okay? Never think that. You couldn't have changed anything about the way things went, alright?" I comforted.

Nya came to y/n's other side and hugged her, offering her some comfort too. "Just... please talk to us. We're here for you" Nya pleaded.

"I- I will" Y/n agreed.

Well that was a long chapter. I'm gonna try update as much as possible today so have fun reading them. The next ones are about when you're kidnapped. I'm going to do each ninja's scenario as one so that it doesn't get confusing if I jump to different situations.
