Despite the fact Lo'ak would've been perfectly fine with staying where he was for the whole night, that didn't mean the chance of Fay'tari waking up had disappeared.

As it approach midnight, the sky completely blackened over with small specs of light ranging across it, Fay'tari grew restless. She shifted in her half-asleep state, causing her head to try and find a better position. When she couldn't find one, her eyes peeked open in irritation, checking to see what she was laying on exactly, immediately assuming there was something wrong with her hammock.

Upon opening her eyes however, she discovered that she wasn't resting on her hammock, nor was she even lying down; She found a boy sat next to her, the same that had been sat there hours ago. Due to her tiredness, she stared at him for a moment, trying to decipher whether or not she was seeing things. However, when Lo'ak moved himself and looked at her too, she realised it was real.

She shot away from him, instantly getting up and onto her feet in a hurry before pacing away quickly. She couldn't go too fast as it was too dark to see clearly, plus, her vision was still adjusting as she'd just woken up. Lo'ak hurriedly followed after her, cautious that she'd fall and hurt her ankle again. She followed on-route towards a torch that was lit a little further down the beach, pinning it as a checkpoint to get back to the village.

"Fay, hey! Wait!" He ran to catch up with her, reaching for her arm but failing to grab it due to his poor vision. "I don't want us to keep avoiding each other like this, please!" He tried again, seeing her stop in the near distance.

"Give it a rest! Things are perfectly fine the way they are now." She stated before continuing on her way, passing the lit torch and following ahead towards the next one.

"I know you don't really think that. What about the island? Huh? Remember-"

She came to a standstill. "Whatever that was that night wasn't real. It meant nothing! Forget it. It cannot happen, and it won't! You know it won't. Just get on with whatever you were doing before it happened!" She says in anger, yet again trying to get him to stop chasing after her.

"Oh yeah, right, you expect me to believe that? You're such a liar! Stop pushing me away, for Eywa's sake!" He yelled as she walked away again, this time managing to grab hold of her wrist as he could see better thanks to the flame's light.

"Hey, get off! Seriously, stop-" Fay'tari instantly struggled against his grip, pulling away from him as he held on tighter.

"Say that you hate me, then."

Her attempt to be freed stopped, her eyes shot up to the boy who was holding her. He was serious, no indication of a falter; It was only his eyes that looked at all different. They looked dark but at the same time slightly hurt. A small flicker of worry could be seen by those who looked for it, Fay'tari being able to detect it straight away. She gulped, knowing he wasn't going to let her go until she complied, not being able to force him off of her.

With a small breath, she made her tone as strong as she could. "What?"

As if he'd anticipated her words, he instantly answered. "If you want me to believe that what happened on the island meant absolutely nothing to you, I want to hear you say you hate me. Go on. I want to hear you tell me directly that you hate me, irrevocably and completely." He elaborated, his voice raised just as hers was and his brows furrowing as he spoke on.

"Tell me that you hate me so much that you'd rather be with that fish-freak for your entire life. I want to hear you say it. Tell me honestly that you feel absolutely nothing for me other than pure loathing; That you didn't feel anything at all that night on the island."

He got closer, his figure towering over the girl who looked much more scared by then, her eyes growing in size.

"Not even when I hugged you, or you hugged me." His voice was hoarse, the tone conceited.

He whispered, "Not even as I tried to kiss you."

Fay'tari held her own, her eyes glued to his that were more than dark. They had a desperation in them, the air feeling inexplicably heavy.

She was sure he could hear her heart.

"Tell me to my face that you don't want to be my mate, do it!" He said louder, making Fay'tari unable to say a word to him. She hadn't expected such a provocation, making her lower her head a little to mask her own face.

"I could ask you to do the same thing, hypocrite." She tried to sound intimidating, yet again yanking her hand away from him and successfully doing so that time.

Thinking he had nothing left to say and neither did she, she turned once again to leave.

"You just can't do it, can you?!" He shouted at her as she paced away from him.

Fay'tari ignored the boy, not wanting to yell anymore.

"You just can't admit it; What you feel for me! Stop acting like you don't care when I know you do!"

She felt rising annoyance build up as well as anxiousness, not liking the feeling of being exposed so accurately. So, she didn't act upon it as she knew it would only make matters worse.

"Oh, but you want to know how I feel, right? You're expecting me to tell you that I hate you too, right?" By that point, he was purely furious.

"Go ahead, I'm all ears!" She heckled in front of him, not stopping until he did just as she'd asked of him.

"Well, I do."
