Though there wasn't much left of the night, Fay'tari and Lo'ak returned to their hut, about to retire to bed for the remaining hours they had left to sleep. On the way back Fay'tari lead the way by holding onto Lo'ak's pinky finger, not feeling ready to let go just yet.

Once they were back inside, Fay'tari immediately clambered onto her hammock and lay on her side facing the wall, as she'd normally do. Lo'ak had to sort a few things about before he actually got into bed, Fay'tari being able to hear clattering and banging around the place behind her. She curled up her legs, a shiver coming over her. She knew she hadn't asked him to and nor did she expect him to, but she wanted him to lay beside her. She waited, not turning around in fear that she'd find him on his own hammock already.

However, she was suddenly lowered, her hammock tilting down to one side as she felt someone climb onto it; That someone being obvious. She hid her smile, acting as if she was about to fall asleep.

He placed himself behind her, immediately wrapping both of his arms around her and pulling her back towards him. He leaned his head against the back of hers as he held her, feeling her hands cling to his as he did so. She placed them atop his, intertwining her fingers to make sure she couldn't let go. An immense calm took over, the sound of relaxed breathing was all that could be heard.

Fay'tari was no longer in a constant flow of thoughts revolving around her troubles, and neither was Lo'ak struggling to fall asleep.

They slept so soundly, both not caring whatsoever where they were or who was around them, just wanting to be close to each other in that moment.

(POV: Neteyam)

Hm.

Not what I expected to see this morning.

It was breakfast time, correction, it had been breakfast time for about half an hour and neither Fay or Lo'ak had shown up to eat. Dad told me to go wake them up or tell them to hurry up at least, so I did as I was told. They should be glad he hadn't asked Kiri or Tuk to go instead.

But I definitely hadn't anticipated that.

My little brother and Fay were fast asleep; Her head was on his chest and his arms were pulling her into him. It was a strange sight to behold, especially for me, since I considered Fay to be somewhat of a little sister. Plus, it was the last thing you'd expect from them.

So they finally grew a pair, huh?

I still had to wake them up somehow, so I decided I'd just nudge my brother until he woke up first. So, I did just that. I nudged and nudged but he didn't budge one bit. I even pinched him at one point. Hopeless, I tried to do the same to Fay. When I did, she began to stir a little, signalling to me that my method was working. Eventually, her hand reached her eyes as she began to rub them, finally woken up.

She lifted her head up with narrowed eyes, obviously unaware of basically everything that was going on. She spotted me, her eyes scanning for a second before they widened as if they were gasping. She looked down at Lo'ak, then up at me, then down at Lo'ak, frantic. This repeated several times before she went to say something, pleading eyes showing themselves. I saved her the trouble by lifting my index finger up to my lips, smiling genuinely and winking at her to let her know the secret was safe with me.

With that, I left and waited for them to come get their food as they were supposed to.

A couple of loud bangs and whispers were heard through the rather thin walls, eventually revealing Fay first, Lo'ak joining in after a sufficient amount of time had passed; Obviously planned out beforehand.

They sat and I watched; Trying not to expose them then and there due to their flushed expressions. Fay was sat next to me, which meant I could torment her a little. I nudged her with my elbow, making her look at me to find my amused complexion, immediately glaring back at me. She nudged me back with much more strength than I had done, assaulting me as if to say "shut the **** up." (The redacted could've been anything, though one word was much more likely than the rest)

A few seconds later, a pair of footsteps rushed into the hut, showing themselves to be Aonung who spoke before he was greeted or even seen by everyone.

"Fay! Are you done? We've gotta start your fishing training, remember?" He sounded chipper, which wasn't how he usually sounded that early in the morning.

I turned to Fay, seeing that she was looking at Lo'ak instead of the fish-face. Lo'ak did nothing but stare back, not giving her anything to go off of even though she was probably looking at him for help. When she couldn't keep him waiting any longer, Fay got up on her feet, leaving her empty bowl where she was meant to.

"Oh, sure." She simply said, leaving the hut and not looking back.

I observed my brother thereafter; He didn't look mad or upset or anything like that, he just looked extremely hungry. I realised then that I had no idea if the two of them sorted anything out between them, as it was rather possible that they ended up the way they were last night by accident.

Once he was done, he started to leave when I stopped him.

"Brother! Wait, wait." I called out, to which he answered by doing as I told him to. He halted, turning to look at me with a blank expression.

"Yeah?" He questioned, not showing much enthusiasm in his speech.

"Did you guys...Like, stop the game? Or..." I cautioned, though I was too interested to be at all nervous about what his reaction would be.

He didn't say anything, and that was the problem. He suddenly looked on edge, like I'd said something wrong.

Oh you're kidding me.

"Please tell me you've sorted it out.—" I tried again, just in case he didn't hear me properly the first time, which was clearly not the case.

He scratched the back of his neck, shifting around and looking a little bit more anxious to be talking to me. He didn't make eye contact, confirming my worries.

Those actual idiots.
