🪷 ⚔️ 🌊
(POV: Lo'ak)
"You rigged this entire thing before it even started?! Are you out of your mind!" She pressed in further, making me hiss; Not at her but at the knife.
"I didn't mean to, I swear it,—" I winced again, immediately understanding that she didn't believe me for a second.
Her expression didn't waver. "I don't care if you didn't mean to, you still did it!"
To be as fair as I could, it was a good point. However, I knew I could make a better one to retaliate.
I struggled against the blade before speaking. "It doesn't matter anymore though, does it?"
She angled her head to the side, though her face didn't move. "How so?" She queried, as if she didn't already know the answer.
"Because neither of us want to play anymore! Please, let go,—" I struggled once more, that time freeing myself.
In truth, she let go of me with her own will. She stepped back, poking the tip of her knife with her index finger, scowling at me.
"You think you can just end the game, just like that? That simple?" She paced sideways.
"Yeah...?" She laughed at my answer, looking down as she walked around whilst still holding the weapon high.
"If you think about it, if you sabotaged the game that early on, breaking the rules, shouldn't that mean I've already won?" Fay'tari came to a conclusion somehow, making me think for a moment.
She was right.
I had broken the rules, a long time ago at that. But... She didn't seriously want to win?
"What?" I asked, not sure she fully meant what she was insinuating.
"I've won, right? I'm the winner?" She smirked, her finger bouncing up and down on the blade, poking it repeatedly in an enthusiastic and happy sort of way.
I panicked a little. "No, you— You don't really want that, do you?"
"Says who?"
My chest went numb, I could suddenly hear my heart throughout my whole body as well as feel it beat, enclosed inside my throat.
I suddenly got much more inflamed. "You! You, you fucking psycho! You said it yourself!" I yelled, gesturing my hand to point at her directly, only making her hold back a laugh.
"Hm... Did I?" She grinned slyly, making me feel foolish.
She was teasing me.
Even though I knew this, I still wasn't going to let her win the argument and claim to be the winner of the game, knowing what that would me for the both of us.
"Yes! And anyway, if you won, I'd have to leave and never come back, right?!" I said, slightly attempting to threaten her as I assumed the idea of me leaving probably made her feel on edge. Well, it should do anyway.
I hope to Eywa it does.
She let out a small giggle before taunting;
"Ah, peace at last!" She bellowed, as if she was relieved to hear me say that I'd be leaving for good. She got closer to me, showing me her obvious cheesy smile as she joked."Hey!" I chucked as I nudged her a little, making her gasp dramatically and widen her eyes as well as let her mouth gape open.
"How dare you hit me, Lo'ak Sully!" She hit me back with more than double the force I'd hit her with, which I deemed rather unfair but let her get away with it anyway.
I caught her wrist as she went to do it again, trapping it still and beginning to tickle her all around. I managed to grab hold of her knife when she wasn't paying attention, throwing it onto the hammock beside us so that she wouldn't accidentally scratch my eyes out. As I continued to tickle her, she squirmed, hitting my back with her other hand, unable to use much strength as she was growing weaker due to the never-ending tickles.
Ah, a weakness.
I snickered, continuing to torture her whilst trapping both of her arms so that she couldn't escape. I ended up in front of her again, accidentally letting one of her hands ago and receiving a large slap on my upper arm. I didn't do anything about it, instead I followed my instinct and leaned forwards slightly, feeling her hand grip my arm as she tried to stop me, still laughing along.
I closed the gap, I kissed her cheek gently despite the grip I had on her other arm being rather rough. Her laughing faltered, quickly resuming once I continued to tickle her when I could. I moved up, placing another peck on the side of her forehead, using one of my hands to cup her jaw with. Her laughter slowly died out, I could see she was still smiling. She nudged me away but I refused, landing a final kiss to the side of one of her eyes, making her chuckle a little as it must've tickled again.
She stopped her struggle, making me move to be face to face with her. She smiled up at me; I scanned her features precisely, picking up on hints of impulse.
She merely sighed as she intertwined her hand with mine.
Then, I had an idea. One of my best I'd say.
"I suppose I'll have to forfeit then, hm?" I joked, receiving a few quickened blinks from the girl in front of me as I didn't back away from her.
She pretended to think, pouting her lips and looking up at nothing. She hummed before speaking quietly through a smile.
"Got any ideas?" Her face became flushed, confirming we both had the same idea in our minds.
I smirked once again, feeling her hand grip mine tighter. I was surprised my chest hadn't exploded then and there, however I couldn't stop to think.
I watched as she closed her sincere eyes, letting myself lean in further.
I tried not to smile as I pressed my lips against hers, though that proved impossible when I could tell she'd failed to do so too.
This forfeit isn't so bad.
