The reason Ren went up to that spot to have a good look at what would happen was because Ren needed to know. She needed to know what she'd be up against. She had never played a Spade card before - then seeing Horse Head and the gun in their hands, the location of the safe zone was a need.
As Ren walked down the stairs carefully and quietly, she heard Arisu shouting the location of the Horse Head. He was warning the other players. Ren stopped for a moment - it was a good idea, warning the other players, but it was up to them if they believed him.
The new guy might, Ren did because she saw Horse Head, but the others? Arisu would be talking to thin air because they wouldn't believe him, especially if they had played different games before this one and were lied to.
However, Ren was shocked to hear someone else giving the direction of the Horse Head. "The tagger is moving from the fourth level of the central area! Anyone nearby, run!" Ren was impressed - someone actually took Arisu up on his idea.
As Ren got onto the sixth floor, she turned her head, seeing a young woman climbing up to the next floor. Ren also heard gunshots ring out below her. She peered over the railing, seeing Horse Head below her. He had claimed two victims in the span of seconds. One happened to be the one whose visa expired that day. Ren glanced across to the hooded man who was watching the entire thing go down.
The lie that Ren was going to have to tell later would be interesting.
Ren ducked down when Horse Head looked up. She hid herself, already knowing that the person in the mask most likely couldn't see for shit unless it was right in front of them. Those masks were not made for clear vision.
The girl who climbed up to the next floor looked at Ren. She waved her hand at Ren, basically signaling her to run the other way. Ren knelt there, staring at the girl.
'How curious.' Ren watched her run off, testing the doorknobs in passing. 'She will help locate the Horse Head, but won't stop to help someone. Interesting.'

"Eight minutes until the game ends. There are currently eight survivors." Ren glared at her phone as she made her way back to the seventh floor. She had tried several doors, trying to find the safe zone, but every door she tried was locked. Ren was limping back up the stairs - at one point, she was running for her life when Horse Head caught her but she was able to get away before she was hit by a stray bullet.
Chishiya glanced at Ren as she appeared in the stairwell. Her eyes narrowed at him, "Fuck off. I don't see you helping locate the safe zone." Ren rolled her eyes as she approached him.
Ren's head whirled around when gunshots rang out. She could see Horse Head shooting up at the fourth floor. One of the players ducked down before he could be shot. The Horse Head was using all the bullets in that round.
Ren tilted her head. That was the first time she watched the Horse Head shoot actively at a specific location. Ren rested her arm on the railing, looking at the location. Looking at all the bullet holes in the balcony wall and the walls of the apartments, Ren started to wonder why the Horse Head was so determined to shoot at that location specifically.
Normally, the Horse Head would stop shooting the moment one of the players ducked down - Ren did that once during the past almost 25 minutes. They just stopped shooting because it was hard to tell if they crawled away from the location they were standing in. The mask conflicted with their vision, they wouldn't be able to tell if the player crawled away or hid somewhere else. But the Horse Head continuously shot at that specific location.
