Ren watched Urumi scheme.
Urumi was whispering to her "loyal followers" about who she thought was Jack this time. It was interesting to watch – Urumi was confident in herself that she knew no one would question her "theories." What Ren found really interesting was... Urumi was so confident, she didn't think anyone would betray her. Ren pushed some hair from her face, starting to wonder how many rounds it would take before Urumi's days were numbered in this place.
Ren couldn't hear what the little group was talking about, but Ren did know who they were talking about. Urumi was making it seem like one of the moment innocent players was Jack, just to kill her off. Meisa wasn't Jack – Ren knew that from the start. Meisa was far too timid and a follower to be Jack. Jack wouldn't be like that.
Unlike suspecting Urumi, Meisa didn't seem to have a hidden side. Ren figured that Jack had a hidden side among them, playing it up.
Ren paced the top of one of the tables. She glanced over to the Urumi's little group as they started to give out the suits. When it was Meisa's turn, Urumi kept true to her word. She gave Meisa the wrong symbol – and there was nothing Ren could do about it. And knowing that Urumi already lied once, straight to Ren's face, she was surprised that everyone listened to her.
Ren jumped down from the table, gaining the attention of Urumi. "Mine next." Ren gave her a sarcastic smile. Ren was purposely making it obvious that she didn't trust Urumi, and she wanted to see if she lied to her again. Ren already knew her symbol, but Urumi didn't know that. Ren turned, pulling her hair off her neck.
Ren faced Chishiya, glancing at the bag of cookies. The four cookies that were left indicated Hearts. "You are just like Meisa, clubs." Now Ren knew for a fact that it was a lie. Ren dropped her hair, turning to face Urumi. The others agreed with Urumi's words – but Ren saw Meisa's face. She looked upset to "lie" to Ren about her symbol. And then there was Ippei who was told to keep his mouth shut.
"Oh good, it changed." Ren was playing around with Urumi. "I thought my collar was broken. Thanks." Ren said as she walked backwards. She snatched one of Chishiya's cookies, breaking off a piece before popping it into her mouth. Ren was trying not to make it obvious that she had Chishiya on her side.
The look on Urumi's face when Ren got through another round was everything to her. She just smiled in Urumi's direction as she walked away from the cells. Urumi was starting to lose her patience with Ren – trying to figure out how Ren was able to get through the rounds without her seeing anyone else telling her the symbol.
But just like Ren thought, Meisa wasn't Jack.
Ren wanted something exciting to happen as the players walked around. She wanted to see some really good betrayals, when the players started to go against each other. Ren wanted to see them breakdown. Not that she wanted to see more deaths, but in this game, they had no choice. They couldn't trust each other for so long before something cracked.
And Ren was starting to see the crack.
She peered around the corner when Shinobu started to question Urumi's words. She didn't know if she'd be next or not – but the problem with that was, Urumi actually told her the right symbol, unlike the two guys who told her the wrong one. A smirk appeared on Ren's face. "That's what I was waiting for." Ren pushed herself away from the wall – the cracks were starting to show.
Ren tilted her head as she headed back down to the kitchen, she watched as Enji walked by with a bag of snacks. It was odd – Enji was never without Banda since the start of the game. She wondered who Enji actually was, he was the one person that Ren hadn't gotten to figure out yet.
