Ren questioned her sanity.
She questioned if she was actually still dreaming all this madness.
She also questioned herself about looking for another game the following evening.
After bunkering down in a 7/11, Ren looked at the phone she got after the first game. She was looking over all the settings, trying to figure out what else the phone could do besides cause her anxiety to spike and tell her about her visa. Ren decided that 3 days wasn't enough time to deal with the visa and figuring out more about this world she was flung into.
Even after watching that young girl die before her eyes during the very first game she played, it just made Ren want to play more. Anything to keep herself occupied and hope to God that Takeru wasn't somewhere, doing through the same thing she was. It was her one hope.
Ren was wandering the empty streets of Tokyo, trying to find a new game to play. According to the rules she was able to find about these games, they reset at six pm every day and last until midnight. Ren just couldn't sit around and watch those three days tick down. It would just haunt her while she sat in that convenience store for three days.
It wasn't hard to find games once Ren really started looking. It wasn't like the first night there, being a "newbie" with no fucking idea what was happening around her. She just had to pick a game - but at the moment, she was just looking for other people.
She didn't want to be the first one to one of the games.
Ren continued down the street, looking for games and people. It didn't take too long for her to find a group of four headed in the direction of a new game. Ren glanced around before following them. From behind, Ren could tell there were at least two adults in their twenties with a teenager and a kid who couldn't be no more than 10. Ren still worried for her brother - if a ten-year-old could be stuck in this madness, her four-year-old brother could be too.
The two adults were talking about the visas, saying that the teenager and the kid's visas were going to run out tomorrow. Ren stopped when she heard that - she had failed to realize yesterday with the woman she met that she had already been through a game or two before going to the game that Ren was at.
Everyone who was there had dropped into this world randomly. Ren wondered how long some of them had been there for.
Ren started walking again, heading in the direction of the office building that was lit up. Only one portion of the office was lit up, waiting for a select number of players to come by and collect the game. Ren stopped to look up at the very top floor of the office building. It felt weird just entering the building like this.
Lowering her head, Ren watched as the group of four went through the barrier she saw last night. It briefly went green as the group walked up the stairs. Ren looked at her phone before heading for the barrier. She could see the faint red lines across the front of the building. Knowing that they were there now, Ren needed to remind herself that once she went through that barrier, there was no turning back.
Ren walked straight through it, glancing back as she heard footsteps echoing towards her. Ren put her phone into her bag, walking up the stairs. Ren saw the four stopped at a table sitting out. As Ren approached, she could see there were already four people inside.
Only ten people were allowed for this game.
Ren picked up the card that sat on the table.
TAKE ONE COLLAR
MUST BE WORN AROUND THE NECK
THE GAME BEGINS ONCE YOU ARRIVE TO THE TOP FLOORRen glanced at the man who ran up to the table. She set down the card, picking up one of the collars. Nothing looked out of place. Ren did hesitate before wrapping the collar around her neck. The others looked at her, equally as nervous as her.
