Ren couldn't believe she agreed to stay behind with Kuina. The fire was spreading across the entire building, it was completely up in flames. Anyone who was still alive were going to be dead before the sun rose. Ren didn't want to be one of those people, but Chishiya had other plans. He wanted to get the last card, thinking that the cards had something to do with the ending of the game.
Ren was holding onto Kuina's hand as they followed Chishiya. "You're quite persistent too." Kuina stated.
Chishiya looked over his shoulder at Kuina and Ren. "I started to think that it's pointless to collect all the playing cards." He stated, looking back at the Ten of Hearts.
"Say what?"
"But with this, we've got everything except for the face cards." Ren squeezed Kuina's hand, trying not to get too scared with the fire around her and the things falling as well. "But I wonder what the management team of the game wants us to see?" Chishiya said.
"Can we get the fuck out of here?" Ren asked. "Please."
Once the trio was outside and away from the Beach, Ren did look back to see the state of the place. It would be completely gone by morning by the state of the fire. The one thing that made her upset was the fact she didn't think about grabbing her bag before leaving the first time. She didn't even think about it until that moment.
The picture of her and her siblings was gone in the fire.
"Here." Ren turned her head to Chishiya, not understanding what he was giving her. However, as soon as she saw what was in his hand, Ren snatched it from him. The photo was folded in half to keep it secure in his pocket, but Chishiya saved the picture of Ren and her twin siblings. There wasn't even a scorch mark or burnt edge.
Ren glanced to Chishiya who wasn't saying a word about the picture outside of giving it back to her. Ren suspected that Chishiya took it before the plan went into motion, in case Ren did forget her bag. Outside of the lighter, the picture was the most important object that Ren had.
"Thank you." Ren folded the picture back up, placing it into the pocket of her shorts. The same smile from earlier appeared on Ren's face as she walked behind Chishiya.
Kuina placed her hands behind her head. "So, where do we go from here for the night?" She looked back at Chishiya and Ren.
Ren thought for a moment. "I know a place." Surprisingly the Beach wasn't too far from where Ren previously was residing with Himari. She knew that the place would be abandoned at this point, everyone probably ran as soon as Junichiro was confirmed to be dead. They could at least stay there before following through with the rest of Chishiya's plan.
She just hoped that Himari disposed of Junichiro's body and didn't just leave it in the mall. She didn't need to smell the scent of a decoying body.
The travel back to the mall was longer than Ren suspected, but in the end, they made it there without a hitch. Kuina and Ren were dead on their feet while Chishiya was just as his normal Chishiya self. As they approached, Ren could see that it was abandoned like Himari told her it was. She pulled open the doors, inhaling deeply to make sure she didn't smell Junichiro's decoying body, but it looked like Himari got rid of it.
"How do you know about this place?" Kuina asked.
Ren shrugged. "Stayed here for a little while before Aguni found me and brought me to the Beach." Ren stated. Ren wasn't going to tell them about the reason why she left. Junichiro's murder was still something she knew was the right thing to do, it didn't haunt her but being back, she didn't know how she was going to handle being there for just the night.
