Chapter 20.5- The Ackermans' Holiday

Connie sits in a big furry chair resting by a lit fire, holding a book. He slowly looks at the screen and gives a smile to the audience. "Ho ho hello, everyone. It's been awhile."

Haha! See what I did there! Haha! Narrating is a lot more fun than I was thinking. Maybe the author was onto something. We don't have long until the Christmas arc is finished. I know you all will miss me narrating. Heck, maybe I should write the story, then you wouldn't have to waiiiiiiiiiiii okay, okay, I'm sorry author! I'll be more understanding of you. Now where were we in the story? Let's forget about the Yeagers and go to a cooler family, The Ackermans.

Levi snorts. "I see what you're doing. Good play, Historia."

Historia: "What are you talking about?"

Levi: "I'm from the underground. I know when someone wants a favor."

Historia looks down and shuffles her feet. "I do have a favor to ask you and it's a pretty big one."

Levi crossed his arms. "What is it? If it's about Eren an-"

Historia: "No, it's Ymir."

Levi feels a tap on his shoulder. He glances at Mikasa who is in the passenger seat as he is driving absentmindedly.

Mikasa: "Is everything alright?"

Levi: "Yeah, just got distracted."

Ymir: "Is no one gonna answer me? Why in the hell was I invited?"

Levi: "A sympathy choice."

Ymir: "Honesty, it sounds like it."

Levi: "You were gonna spend the holidays alone, it's pretty sad if you ask me."

Ymir huffs.

Levi continues. "Besides, you agreed when you didn't had to. You barely put up a fight."

Ymir looks out the window. "Can't argue about that. I was bored so why not?"

Levi: "We're almost there."

Ymir: "What's the scope with you guys' uncle? Kenny was it?"

Mikasa: "He's......an interesting one."

Ymir: "That doesn't sound good."

Mikasa: "He was the one who raised Levi since he was a child and he partially raised me a few years later."

Ymir: "Partially?"

Mikasa: "The Yeagers took me in for a few months until I moved in with Kenny but my dad's relatives moved closer to the Yeagers so I moved in with my relatives until college."

Levi: "Kenny already didn't want to be a father to me. Add another child into the mix and he loses his mind. It was for the best that she didn't stay."

Ymir: "So Levi, you grew up in Sina?"

Levi: "No, we lived on the outskirts of it. By the time I was in middle school, Kenny spent more time in the capital so I was stuck raising myself."

Ymir: "That sucks. We gotta love neglectful guardians."

Mikasa: "What about you, Ymir?"

Ymir: "Oh you know, the orphanage isn't much to talk about."

Levi: "Looks like we're here."

The three of them exits the vehicle that is parked in front of a townhome squeezed in-between other townhomes.

Ymir: "This looks cozy."

Levi: "We're city dwellers."

Ymir: "Sounds like my kind of people." She follows behind Mikasa and Levi as they enter the townhome.
