I paced back and forth by the gate. It was early morning and I hadn't left this spot since I saw the drop ship explode on landing. Bellamy and Clarke agreed to wait till morning to go out and check the site, but I wanted to go right away.
"The crash site isn't going anywhere warrior." Raven said walking up to me. I gave her a small glance before going back to my pacing. I was still seething from what happened at the bridge, and I know Raven only went to protect Finn, but still. It was Jasper, Clarke, and Bellamy I was mad at the most. "Still not talking, huh?"
"I have nothing nice to say to anybody right now." I stated plainly.
"I'm not going to argue with you warrior, mostly because you would beat me in any fight, but we only went to protect you." Raven stated.
When I didn't answer her she just walked off. I was glad for it, the last thing I wanted was to be around anyone. Looking at them would just make me think about what they did to the grounders. Anthony.
Raven and Clarke were the only ones who dared speak to me because everyone else was either mad a me, or they were to afraid to get near me.
Finally the sun rose and I was joined by the exploring party which consisted of Bellamy, Clarke, Raven, Finn, and a few other gunners. I didn't even wait for the commands I just walked out off towards the blast.
It took an hour of walking with no one approaching me. The only person I let walk by my side was Finn. Once we finally reached the sight my heart stopped seeing the wreckage.
I let out a soft sob, and started going to work. Clarke and I were incharge of finding surviors, but looking at the carniage in front of me I had a feeling there wouldn't be any.
Pieces of the drop ship crunched under my feet as I tried to stay away from larger smoking pieces. The smell of burning fuel and burnt flesh filled my nose making me remember back to when I ran into the engineering room and found it blown to shreds. But I couldn't let that deter me. I was on a mission.
I fought back tears every time I saw a burned skeleton or a loose limb. To only think about what those people were thinking about at their last moments. Were they scared? Did they even know what was happening?
"Stay sharp." Bellamy said loud enough for everyone to hear. "Grounder retaliation for what happened on the bridge is coming just a matter of when." Keeping my mouth shut was the hardest thing I had to do.
"Can you blame them?" Finn asked saying what I wanted too.
"No. I blame you." Bellamy said. That was it, I couldn't take anymore of the bridge talk. The wound was still so fresh.
I walked off until I was far from the group. I explored through the burning lodges. I heard a bit of an explosion and saw a fireball go up. Rocket fuel, I guess since the rockets never went off this place would be covered in it.
"ECHO!" I heard my name being called, but I didn't turn, I was still busy looking for people. "Echo! Where the hell are you?"
"She's over there!" Another person yelled.
SoonI heard someone run up to me, and I turned to see Finn. "Come on, hydrazine is all over the place," He said holding out his hand.
Finn had really grown on me. He was more sensable then most everyone at camp. I grabbed his hand and felt safe. We walked off towards the rest of the group. Raven glared at me, clearly I was getting more attention from Finn than her.
We walked back in silence.
*****
We arrived back to find a group of people around the fire listening to Jasper as spoke about how he murdered all those grounders at the bridge. Stomping off I found Octavia and Monty, one of the few people I wanted to talk too, and who were talking to me.
