I got up early in the morning around seven or eight and I headed to the airport and got on a flight to Paris, not wanting to be anywhere else but with Methos. I got off the plane after sleeping the entire time and I headed to the church first and began to pray to Darius, telling him of the killing spree I had just done, and to please forgive me, which even I wouldn't have done or maybe he wouldn't either. I later went to the flat where Methos was and entered, Methos pulling out his sword and turned around to see me and we met eyes.
"Maria.. You didn't tell me you were coming," he said and all I could manage to do was close the door behind me and stand there, awkward and cold since it had begun to rain as I walked alone in the streets.
"I am sorry, Methos, I am so sorry," I said and began to cry as I fell to the floor and curled up, trying to get warm. Methos sighed, but not in an angry manner and walked up, pulling me up where he took off my coat and laid me down on the bed, covering me with a blanket.
"Everything is okay. What you did is in the past now and there is nothing you can do to change that. What's done is done." I nodded and fell asleep, waking up to Methos typing on his laptop. He looked at me and walked up in a worried manner and I sat up, grabbing his hand.
"Amanda called some hours ago saying MacLeod was kidnapped."
"WHAT?" I got up and went to the door but Methos grabbed my arm and put his hands in a way to show me to calm down.
"What... I don't- what is happening, did they find him?"
"MacLeod escaped, don't worry. He says that the immortal Colonel Killian is the one that did it and that you would know who it was. He also told me that you didn't tell anyone that you were coming back here. Amanda sounded pretty angry." I sighed and sat at the end of the bed, feeling bad for everyone but me. I was the problem.
"Yeah, I know who that is. I am going to give Duncan a call and tell him all I know." Methos nodded and handed me my phone, also handing me a beer.
"Maria... What is your problem?"
"I'm sorry, Duncan, I know, I am a huge problem for you right now, but I just want to make it clear that-"
"I don't want to speak to you right now," he said and hung up, which made me stare at the phone and want to cry again. Methos sighed, once again not angry and took the phone and threw it on the bed as he sat down with me.
"I am such an Asshole," I said and covered my face with my hands, feeling like the worst person in the world.
"No, you're not. Listen... MacLeod and Amanda cannot control your actions forever. If they can't respect that you are trying to help them stay out of it, at least then you will live to fight another day." I sighed and put my head on his shoulder, angry with everything.
"One minute everything is fine and I can finally return to Paris to see you and then Duncan gets kidnapped and I need to go back to save him, but he also still hates me for the Alvarez crap and... why did I have to be an immortal -out of all people- why did it have to be me. Obviously I can't keep up with everyone else around me." Methos handed me his beer and I sipped on it, shaking now. I looked at the time and looked outside to see it was still raining.
"I think you are doing a fine job with what you have been given." I smiled and kept my head on his shoulder, not wanting to ever leave Methos's side again.
"What do we do now, Methos?"
"I have no idea. Amanda said that she would keep in touch with details, but I highly doubt MacLeod is going to want to talk to you right now." I nodded and got up off of the floor, grabbing my coat and Methos stood up, walking up to me.
