Chapter Three

The craft propelled then through the water as they dove deeper. Sylvie was sure it was not designed for four people yet they still crammed in it with Obi-Wan and JarJar in the front while Qui-Gon and her in the back. "Dis nutsen" JarJar said "Ooh! Goober fish!" He turned to the window outside "Why were you banished JarJar?" Obi-Wan asked. "it's a long tale-o but a small part of it would be mesa clumsy" the Gungan said. "You were banished because you were... Clumsy?" Sylvie asked.

"Uhh... Yousa might'n be sayin dat" JarJar said when the three Jedi turned to look at him. "Mesa caused mabbe one, twoy kettle bitty axadents. Yud say boom da gassar den crashin der boss's heyblibber den banished" Sylvie nodded slowly, pretending that she understood whatever he said. The craft halted suddenly and they turned back to see a monstrous fish grabbing the back of their craft with it's long tounge. "Wuhoh!" JarJar exclaimed. The fish reeled then into it's mouth "Bif goober fish! Huge-o teeth!" He cried in panic though the Jedi stayed perfectly calm as the fish swam with them in it's mouth.

There was a loud echoing roar from behind them as a much larger fish appeared and clamped it's mouth down on the fish who was caught them, causing them to be released. "There's always a bigger fish" Qui-Gon said. "Mesa tink we goen back now" JarJar said but the Jedi payed him no attention as they dove deeper into the planet core. "Where wesa goin?" JarJar asked after a while. "Don't worry, the force will guide us" Qui-Gon responded. "Ohh, maxi big da force... Well dat smells stinkoviff" The Gungan said as the craft began to beep loudly.

"We're loosing power" Obi-Wan said, causing JarJar to whimper "Oh no" He muttered. The craft's lights flickered a bit before shutting down as they stopped. "Wesa dyin here!" The Gungan cried "Just relax. We're not in trouble yet" Qui-Gon said. "What yet?! Monsters out dare. Leak'n inhere. All sink'n and no power? Whena yousa tinkin wesa in trouble!" JarJar exclaimed. The was a small jolt from the control panel "Power's back" Obi-Wan said but when the turned to the front there was a large amber eye watching them, a grey and blue creature with a long snout watched them hungrily. "Aah! Monster back!" JarJar exclaimed.

The creature roared as it turned it's large snout towards them, opening it's jaws to swallow them whole. The craft propelled itself away at the last minute and began towards the tunnels with the monster right behind them. "Relax" Qui-Gon said as JarJar whimpered before fainting. "I think you over did it slightly master" Sylvie commented. They creature chased them to the end of the tunnel where a another large creature waited, jaws open wide but Obi-Wan managed to pull up and went over it. "Horrible" JarJar blubbered in his sleep. "Head for that outcropping" Qui-Gon instructed.

With a few more run ins with creatures they finally managed to get to the surface unharmed, appearing in a river in the city. They had managed to sneak past the battle droids, many of whom were forcing citizens into handcuffs and taking them to the palace. The Jedi and JarJar hid behind a wall as a few droids led the queen, her advisor, her handmaidens and guards. When the droids reached an archway the Jedi ambushed them, dropping in from above and igniting their lightsabers, they cut up the droids whole JaJar did whatever he was doing.

"We should leave the street your highness" Qui-Gon said, turning his lightsaber off. "Get their weapons" The advisor ordered the guards. "Whoa! Yousa guys bombad" JarJar commented. "We're ambassadors of the supreme chancellor" Qui-Gon informed the Queen. "Your negotiations seem to have failed Ambassador" The advisor said. "The negotiations never took place. It's urgent that we make contact with the Republic"

"They've knocked out all our communications" The head guard said "Do you have transports?" Qui-Gon asked "In the main hanger, this way" The lead guard said.

The royal guards led them to a large, grand hanger just a few minutes walk from where they were. Sylvie peeked out into the hanger where, along with ships, there were many battle droids walking around and patrolling the area while others stood guard over captured pilots. "There's too many of them" The lead guard told the Jedi. "That won't be a problem" Qui-Gon said before turning to the Queen "Your highness, under the circumstances I suggest you come to Corusaunt with us"

"Thank you Ambassador but my place is with my people" Queen Amidala responded. "They will kill you if you stay" The Jedi knight said "They wouldn't dare" The advisor said. "They need her to sign a treaty to make this invasion legal. They can't afford to kill her" The lead guard informed. "There's something else behind all this your highness. There's no logic in the Federation's move here. My feelings tell me they will destroy you" Qui-Gon whispered to the Queen.

"Our only hope is for the Senate to side with us, Senator Palpatine will need your help" The Advisor stated. "Either choice presents great danger... to us all" Queen Amidala murmured. "We are brave your highness" One of the handmaidens nearest to her said. "If you are to leave, you highness. It must be now" Qui-Gon said. "Then I will plead out case to the senate" The Queen said finally.

"Be careful governer" She said as they entered the hanger. "We'll need to free those Pilots" The lead guard said. "I'll take care of that" Obi-Wan said, breaking away from the group. "Halt!" A battle droid ordered as they approached. "I'm Ambassador to the Supreme Chancellor, I'm taking these people to Corusaunt" Qui-Gon stated. "Where are you taking them?" The battle droid asked. "To Corusaunt" Sylvie responded. "Corusaunt? uh... That does not compute" The droid said. "Uh.. wait, you're under arrest" Qui-Gon and Sylvie quickly ignited their sabers at that and started hacking away at the droids, allowing the Queen, her guards and handmaidens to enter the ship "Come on, move!" He urged.

Obi-Wan also ignited his lightsaber and began to slice up the battle droids who were holding the Pilots "Go!" He yelled at the Pilots who ran to the ship and onto it. The Jedi stood at the ramp, slicing the battle droids until all the Pilots were on board. By that time all the droids had been destroyed. Turning off their lightsabers, the three rushed into the ship as the Pilots started the take off cycle.

I'm so used to TCW Battle Droid noises that I completely forgot just how deep they were in TPM
