Aether POV:
He thought that nothing could surprise him anymore. After all, he'd found out that their ELA teacher was the famous Kadenokouji Kenzaburou! But what Lumine told him made his jaw drop to the floor. And judging by her serious expression, she probably wasn't joking.
"W-what do you mean by that?" he asked.
"Exactly what I said. There are 3 of them here at this very school. I'll give you some info on them so you can stay away from them. Okay, so one's a tall blonde girl with gray eyes, her name is Signora. Another is some ginger dude who's taller than Signora, I didn't get his name but he has dead blue eyes. And another is Scaramouche. I have no idea what he looks like," Lumine said to him quickly. "Anyways, gotta run, class is starting soon." The girl ran off, leaving a very confused Aether behind.

Fatui Harbingers...here? Of all places? Why would they be here? Don't they burn down houses and chuck babies off cliffs for morning exercises? he thought while he ran to Self-Defense class. He had no idea where he was going and was following Albedo, who had told him he had the same class for 3rd period. The guy was running and reading a book at the same time, and he wasn't even out of breath, while Aether was lagging 10 steps behind and laboring like a dog. His lungs were literally on fire, and the Fatui slipped out of his mind for a second.
After what seemed like an hour of running later, they arrived at a clearing full of training dummies or whatever. There were about 30 kids there, and the teacher was nowhere to be seen.
"Don't worry we're not late," Albedo said monotonously. Although Aether felt like he had been running for an hour, he chose to believe the boy who was still reading that book.
And it turned out Albedo was right. A few seconds after they arrived at the outdoor classroom, the bell from the school could be heard.
"Hello everyone, happy first day of school!" a voice rang. Aether looked up at the top of a tree, which was where a woman(girl?)with gray hair was sitting.
(Mini time skip bc I don't wanna write that whole part again lol)
What was up with that class? All we did was swing a stupid stick around. How is that Self-Defense? Aether thought to himself. Some of the kids had quit the class after one day, but he decided to give it a shot. Maybe the teacher was just having some fun toying around with the new students. She certainly seemed like the kind of person who would do that. While he followed the rest of the kids back to the main part of the campus, his mind wandered back to what Lumine had told him. 3 of Teyvat's most feared beings were at this very school. He didn't know whether he should start screaming and running in the other direction or think of a plan to take them down. As of right now, the first option sounded very appealing, but something told him to not immediately call Paimon to get them out of this place. He sighed. I hope I'm not making a mistake...

Aether frowned down at his schedule sheet.

Aether Ying: Grade 11
1st Period: ELA, Yae Miko
2nd Period: Free Period
3rd Period: Self-Defense, Diedere Kaze
4th Period: Math, Raiden Ei
LUNCH
5th Period: Science, Nahida Kusanali
6th Period: Band, Venti Barbatos
7th Period: History, Zhongli Morax
8th Period: Weapon Mastery, Wenxu Aoi

Now that he had time to properly look at the schedule(he was lucky enough to stumble upon the 11th-grade Math classroom), he noticed a couple of things different about it. For one, it seemed that all 11th-grade students had the same Lunch period since it just said "LUNCH", with no number or something next to it. He did notice that while the school was vast and pristine, there didn't seem to be all that many students.
"Hello class, I am Ms. Raiden, and I am your Math teacher for this year," the purple-haired lady said. She looked like a businesswoman, not a math teacher. Her expression was stern, and her hands were on her hips. Aether was expecting the next thing to come out of her mouth to be homework assignments due by the end of the day.
"Go do whatever you want," she said, sitting in her chair. What. She's gotta be kidding.
Turns out she wasn't kidding. This one kid was jumping from desk to desk and the teacher didn't give a damn. Whatever. He glanced at the guy sitting next to him. He was sitting with a very slouched back and his head buried in his arms on the desk. He had light yellow-orange hair tied back into a ponytail that reached midback. The guy had somehow managed to fall asleep despite the chaos raging around him. Something about him seemed a bit off; sinister, almost, but Aether was sure he was just imagining it. Could he be Scaramouche? Lumine never did find out what he looked like. No, he can't be, right? But he does give off an eerie vibe. Aether mentally slapped himself. He couldn't go around doubting anyone who didn't radiate sunshine and rainbows! The guy was probably just a moody person or something along those lines. Aether reached into his backpack and pulled out a book Heizou had lent him. Hilichurl History was the title. Aether knew the bare minimum of hilichurls. They were little rascals that appeared around the time Khaenri'ah was destroyed and disappeared when the Archons disappeared. He saw Ms. Raiden glance at him, but thought nothing of it, and flipped to a random page in the book. It featured a very detailed picture of a hilichurl butchering a pig, something he never wanted to see again. He quickly flipped the page, only to be met with a picture of a bathing hilichurl. What the heck was wrong with this book? What lengths did the photographers have to go to to get these pictures? He quickly slammed the book shut in fear of seeing a naked hilichurl on one of the pages. Luckily, he had borrowed another book from Heizou, so he pulled that one out too. Well, he hadn't really borrowed it, Heizou had basically shoved the book into his hand and demanded that he read it. He didn't even know the title, but a quick lookover of the cover told him exactly what kind of book it would be. He quickly shoved it back into his backpack, not wanting to be caught reading a book on the best ways to murder someone. Why does Heizou even have that book? Aether thought, frowning to himself. Maybe he's Scaramouche, and Heizou is an alias? He mentally slapped himself. If Heizou was Scaramouche, then he wouldn't draw attention to himself by shoving a murder book into Aether's hands. Aether sighed and picked at his fingernails. The yellow-orange-haired kid next to him woke up and chose violence. Jk, he was writing something, and from the expression on his face and the jerky movements of his hand, he was probably writing hate mail.

The bell finally rang, and Aether was out of the classroom faster than your dad left to get the milk. One of the many upsides of this school was that because of its few students, everyone-9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade-had lunch during the same period. According to Albedo, who he had asked about it, there were only about 100 kids per grade level, adding up to around 400 kids total. That meant that although Aether had absolutely no idea where he was going, he could just follow the crowd.
It took about 5 minutes to get to the cafeteria; that one room alone probably cost more than the entirety of his old school. Aether started to suspect that the principal robbed banks for a living, but that didn't really bother him. He had been planning on setting Pallad's house on fire when he got back for New Year's, but he needed the help of Lumine. Then again, Lumine was more chaotic than him, she'd probably already committed 10 different cases of arson, so he should have no problem getting Lumine in on the plan. He quickly grabbed his lunch-free of charge, the principal was most definitely a bank robber-and looked for his sister. He saw her sitting alone at a table near a window and quickly walked over to her.
"Hello there," Lumine said, throwing a ketchup packet at him. Normal sibling behavior
Aether caught the packet and tossed it back. "Hello there yourself. Any more news on the Fatui people?"
