Y/n's pov:

"This is gonna be litttt!!" Yeojin yelled while jumping around.

We're currently talking about the field trip while eating our lunch. It's honestly a good opportunity to go somewhere with my friends.

We had been planning to go on a vacation all together, but shit happens and we never got the chance to actually do that.

"I bet Y/n is gonna have all her crushes around making her crazy." Jungwon said, receiving a light punch by me.

"You know guys... Since there's five of us, we should leave Y/n out and make her stay with one of her crushes what do you say?" Hyunseo asked teasingly and the others agreed with a smirk.

"Don't y'all dare. It's gonna be awkward. 5 of them got letters and 2 of them already asked me to talk." I replied half offended. I knew they were just joking, unless...

"You don't even know, maybe none of them is coming along." Yeojin replied and sat next to me.

"Nah, crush number 1, I mean Minji, is definitely attending. Rumors have it that her father is one of the funders of our school. If it's true, there's no way he doesn't want his daughter to set examples, so she's attending." Gyu explained.

Great, I'm fucked. But wait what? Minji's father is what?

"Huh? Her father? I've never heard of this rumor. Her father has actually never appeared though... So it might explain something." Jungwon asked before I could.

I guess we'll never know.

After Jungwon asked this Chaerin appeared and asked to talk to me.

"Hey idiot, I was having a conversation there." I rolled by eyes.

"Oh? Okay, I'll leave. You definitely don't care about some useful information..." She said nonchalantly and started walking away.

"This is what I get for being a good sister..." She said dramatically before I grabbed her arm and turned her around.

"What information did we get now?" I asked with a brow raised.

"Oh you care now?" She asked with a smirk.

"Yeah I do. Tell me." I demanded and she whistled with a teasing face.

"Okay so... Haerin is coming to the field trip and I was right behind her when Eunchae asked her to sit together in the plane or share a room." She said with a serious look.

"Okay and? They're friends." I simply stated.

I trusted Haerin, if she said they're friends, it's final.

"Firstly, Haerin is a damn dense cat. Eunchae is making moves. Also, guess what was her answer." She did a gesture like passing me a microphone to give an answer.

"I don't know! Yes?" I asked expecting an answer from her now after speaking in the so called microphone.

"Her answer was no! She wants to sit and stay with someone else!" She replied excited.

"What if it's you?! Damn she fumbled." Chaerin added and forrowed her eyebrows while looking at me up and down.

"Shut the fuck up, you look like a wet rat. And so does your boyfriend." I replied, knowing Chaerin, it would hurt more her boyfriend than her.

I never liked that dude. He always seemed like a player. If he dares to do anything to hurt my sister he'll be damned.

"Come on Y/n! When are you gonna approve of Jaehyun? He's a nice guy". She pouted.

"He looks like a fuckboy whose Kakao messages are filled with girls." I disapprovingly replied with an eye roll.

"Y/n? Am I interrupting your conversation?" A person behind me asked and Chaerin's eyes widened a bit.

It was only noticable to me. It was our sign that it could be one of the five girls...

Guessing by the voice, it was Hyein.

"Hi Hyein!" I greeted her with a smile.

I had missed her honestly. She was sick, I was sick... And I still can't get over how I answered my phone on her that day.

"Hi... Is it a good time to steal you away for a bit?" She asked and I opened my mouth to talk but instead, Chaerin replied.

"I was just leaving, you can have her, my uhhh... My friends are looking for me!" She said and run away like a dog.

Hyein chuckled at my sister's behavior.

"Do you wanna go away for a bit? We still have time." She asked and I nervously nodded.

Okay, at this point I'm getting ready to get rejected by 1/5.

We quietly made our way to the benches outside.

No one was there, everyone was eating inside and that's what made it more awkward.

"Was that true?" She asked me and dropped her bag.

She knows... She fucking knows... I feel like I'm shaking right now.

"Don't feel nervous... I'm just asking." She said with a worried look and made me sit down on the bench.

I took a deep breath before admitting it for the first time to someone outside of my friendgroup and Chaerin.

"Yes. It was true." I replied in what seemed like one breath with lungs filled with cigarettes. I don't even smoke.

"Then... Why did the letter say we've never talked before?" She asked not looking at me in the eyes.

"It's kind of old. When I wrote it we really had never talked before." I admitted again and closed my eyes to take another deep breath which stopped me from shaking.

"Oh... That explains it." She replied equally awkward.

Fuck. This air is the rejection air.

"Look I'm very sorry I wasn't even the one who sen-" I was ready to confess what my sister did until she spoke midway.

"Don't be sorry! I should be sorry, I keep making the air awkward. I find the letter flattering actually. So your friends say we look good together huh?" She asked and looked at my eyes directly with a smile.

Am I... Am I not getting rejected?

"Yeah, they do." I replied with a trembling smile.

"So... You know I kind of took a liking to you too before... Even before we started sharing Science classes. I guess your beauty is a major attractor. I also wanna get to know you a bit better." She stated in a less awkward tone than before, still smiling.

"Hyein... It's true, everything in this letter is true but there are some complications. I can't talk about it now... If you're willing to get to know me after a conversation we need to have another time then... I'd love to." I replied with a smile and the bell rang.

I took my things and we walked together inside in silence but then she spoke before I could leave.

"I still want to get to know you. I'm not one to back off this easily. Take your time, but please don't forget about me." She said while touching my arm lightly.

I nodded quietly and she gave me a quick smile before following the crowd to the other side of the school and went to her classes...
