"Happy birthday cutie!!". My mom-Lolah burst open the door to my room yelling which made me froze on my way to the bathroom.
Remind me to start locking my door whenever I comeback from my morning runs.She comes in,gave me a hug and peck on my left cheek not minding I smell of sweat.
"You almost gave me an heart attack Mom!..anyways thanks." She rolled her eyes and handed over my birthday gift.A small box wrapped neatly which I didn't notice until now.I unwrapped it .
"Thanks mom I love you." She got me a diamond necklace.I hugged her.
"Hope you are not planning on sleeping and watching Netflix series with Kate all day.? because I learnt you took the day off.You should do something fun t's your birthday today."I rolled my eyes.
Kate my brother Dan's mate and I always go running in our wolf form together every morning and when I have my days off,we would catch up by watching Netflix series all day while gossiping about the pack.
I work at the pack's school.I help teach the younger ones what's to learn about our world.
"Mom,what's special about the day except for the gifts which I appreciate,what's there to celebrate?,I haven't find my mate at the age of twenty two,twenty two mom and you still think I should celebrate.Even Dan brother found his at the age of eighteen when all normal werewolves find theirs.I'm glad it's my birthday but there's nothing to celebrate."
I know my sudden outburst is stupid I know I shouldn't be like this but I can't help it.I have been thinking for like three days now.
Its my birthday but I don't have a mate to celebrate it with me.It's crazy.Tho most of the pack members are nice enough not to say anything in my presence,but I know they do talk.
"Cutie..."mom looked into my eyes with sorrow in hers "....I understand what you are going through but trust me you will find ur mate at the right time I know it..He who laughs last laugh best." She uses her right thumb to wipe the tears I didn't even know was on my face.
I ended up crying into her arms and she let me anyways.
"When is the right time mom?..What if he's already dead.?". that's my biggest fear.What if my mate is already dead and that's the reason I can't find him?
My wolf-Larah growled at me for thinking that way,I pushed her to the back of my mind I don't need her opinion right now.
"He is not,If he is you will definitely know.Larah would have let you know,she will feel the emptiness in her,even if you haven't met before.That's how strong the mate bond is." She replied with tears on her face too.
This issue of my mate have been giving us real headache for a while now.I remembered vividly on my twentieth birthday,Mom made me visit all the packs she knows of thinking I will find my mate using the WBC welfarism as an excuse to the pack Alphas to enter their land but we came back disappointed and heartbroken.
"Anyways how was your meeting yesterday?I couldn't stay up till you get back.Any solution.?" .I asked.
"The WBC leader is as confused as we all too.We still haven't figure how the lycans go missing then found crazy without remembering anything.It's exhausting." She sighed.
